im sorry but in my opinion the petzl gri-gri is overrated and overpriced. My BD ATC and trango pyramid work just fine and there 10-20 bucks, not 60-80.

I disagree about the grigri. I think it's the best piece of climbing equipment yet developed. It takes some time to get use to but it's awesome and well worth the price.

Whenever the Grigri comes up for discussion, it turns out that many climbers love it and just as many climbers hate it. It's almost become a religious issue. Is anyone ambivalent about Petzl's famous gizmo?

i agree with nlunstrum. If you really look at them most of that extra camming range is the cams actually over camming onto the other side. they also say their much stronger but if your other single stemmed cams hold that thirty footer you don't need to worry. I have to say for me (and I do not, repeat do NOT, want to start a debate here, just a personal opinion) 5.10's...I only tried one style/size, I just wasn't too impressed. I much prefer La Sportivas, myself. Also, the Petzl Calidris harness has not impressed me much, plus it is too big. Oh well. I know these things have worked really great for some ppl, just not for me. -jenNifer-
