In reply to: Does it make you feel better that I've now posted that fact to open forum? Doesnt me posting an apology like that, to a topic that only affects ONE person, seem more like sucking up to public image than "doing the right thing?" That is certainly how I see it. If I say something egregious that requires an apology, unless its something that affects more than one person, I will issue that in private. Clausti, There is a major flaw in your logic here. When you go off spraying crap about people, and apologise in person - even if both you and the offended party know that everything's good, all the rest of the world sees, is someone who only cares to spray crap in public, with (apparently) no remorse. This makes you look like a henous b*. .. unless that's the image you're trying to cultivate. - d, who's not sure where the first version of this post went... Hmm.

Train wrecks aren't funny. There might be people on this site who feel strongly about train wrecks. They might know someone who was killed in a train wreck, or witnessed first hand the horrors of a train wreck, or read about a train wreck in the newspaper a few years ago. Maybe you should edit the thread title again. How about this: "Thread about various issues that may or may not offend you or someone you know" Now that I think about it, this may need to be the title of every thread in community.

In reply to: Anyone been to Caribou Coffee yet? I have to say I like it more then Starbucks. Anyone else feel the same? I heard that before. They said the same about Pete's and Tully's but that's all bull. I don't like Starbucks (the corporation) but their coffee is pretty good. I like their beans from Kenya the best. just a question though: why is that if you offend one person publicly you have to apologize publicly? I mean, you gotta apologize because you offended the person. I don't see how it would hurt the feelings of others in the same way. I'm asking this question in earnest.

In reply to: ok well allow me to clear some of this up. A:im not from clemson. been here a month. B: not done any climbing farther south in the US then Seneca. C: i dont know what the red is. never been there. ive only been out west and mid east for climbing in the states. and Clausti why do you feel the need to perform these gross defimations of character. i just moved to the area on february 1st from Luisiana. im sorry that this lead this far. but im not gonna let it get me down. i guess we just wont be able to climb. other folks that dont take this online junk seriously. hit me up and we can go climbing. if you need a REAL acurate character reference for me speak to RRRRadam one of the leading members and co owners in the past. dont know if he is still working with the site like that but he'll clear the air. good climbs and be safe on the crag. see you out there No offense here but I read the original conversation and it started off with stuff like "zlipper: I climbed El Cap.". Aid, free? What route? Did you actually climb or just jug? Your whole explaination of belaying was horrendous. All the terminology you use and the way you write and respresent yourself makes you look like a complete poser. What's with all the RRRadam stuff? Good for you, you climbed with one member of this site. Did you do some sweet top roping? Sorry to drop it on ya' dude but "The Red" is in the mid-east... and I find it hard to believe that any experienced climber doesn't know what the Red River Gorge is, in practically ever climbing magazine there is a picture or story about it. Not to mention front page pictures on this site. Not to mention on the front page of the "South" Partners forum in which you started a thread about halfway down is someone looking for an RRG partner?
In reply to: any climbers looking to get their friends intoi climbing i do have extra gear and will teach anyone looking to learn. im a registered guide for the MD area. as i was the former MD area manager. so even if your looking for a short 3-4 hour bouldering spot. or your looking for some serious lead trad climbing. im there. lead trad climbing? WTF hahaha? A registered guide in the east has no idea what the Red River Gorge is... Registered guide through which organization? Do you have a way we can verify this? Quality of character has been shown on this site to not be directly related to being an area manager. I don't think she was trying to defame your character as much as call you a poser and I will be as bold to say that you act like a complete poser. Whether the fact that you are a poser or not has yet to be proven and you have done nothing but add to the image. Born August 19th 1985 at what age did you become a guide? Don't you hate the internet... Clausti had what was coming to her when she posted this, if you're going to drop the napalm you better be wearing a flame retardent suit. But I wouldn't doubt that clausti could outclimb this poser. PS. I love community

The only thing that could possibly make this thread better, would be to discover that zlipperisback is actually clausti's scitzoid alter ego... or one of them anyway. :tinfoilhat: QUICK, somebody check the IP!

In reply to: Here's some advice: Right now you are young, good looking, and female, and can get away with all kinds of crap because of that. And that is as it should be. Keep your advice grandpa! Live like your hair is on fire! There is nothing more important than being young and hot! Disagree? Yeah, you're old and not!
