From a woman's point of view: ...Although I am impressed by CharlesJMM's "tenacity" and the "volume of his contributions", the "positioning of his cords" sometimes leaves me dissatisfied... I still prefer the "performance" of Mike's "rig". His "straight forward approach" "gets the job done" easier with less friction... Knudenoggen keeps referring to diagrams. Fingertrouble- well the less said about "finger-trouble" the better. And John Long... well John did write the book on how to "satisfy an anchor requirement". I'm still impressed with his willingness to "explore new positions" with his "cordelette". In the long run we all know that skilled "gear" placement will overcome any deficiencies in your "climbing anchor".

What on earth do anchors have to do with gender? Do some of them make it easier to pee at a hanging belay without sacrificing strength or simplicity?

Indeed, I did not. I thought it was another thread about the ultimate anchor. I see now that it is a thread about sex jokes that happen when selectively quoting the threat about the ultimate anchor. Sad thing is, I did read the OP.

While the OP was good, this:
In reply to: What on earth do anchors have to do with gender? Do some of them make it easier to pee at a hanging belay without sacrificing strength or simplicity? is the funniest element of this thread.

I would suspect that the woman's take would be favorable on this whole 50-some page ramble. For example, there's endurance, tenacity, and (sometimes) a willingness to explore that special spot. These concepts have helped me in producing results in the past. Nevertheless, the thread does drag on and on and on for 50 pages with nary a provocative shot of a cordlette (can I use that word?), a sling, or a carabiner in a compromising position. Which reminds me of a joke, one probably in poor taste, but what the heck. What's the difference between a nymphomaniac, une fille de joie, and a housewife? The nymphomaniac questions, "Is that all?" The lady of the evening states, "That's all." The housewife says (with head back, while sighing), "Beige, I think I'll paint the ceiling beige." I wonder if we can rename a certain thread to "The Beige challenge"?

Hey- I'm entitled to my opinion about what I consider an adequate anchor.. ...and don't roll your eyes at me Brutus. The monster-x thread begged me on hands and knees to poke fun at it.

If you'd only asked, in light of her countless PMs and her continual stalking of me, I could have warned you about justthemaid's sense of humor. But you didn't ask. She's pretty funny, once you've been warned, isn't she?

Dirt- I would offer to critique your "trad skills", but you have me at a disadvantage. Having never "seconded" one of your "ascents" I couldn't possibly gage the quality of your "gear" placements.

Having never " seconded" one of your " ascents" I couldn't possibly gage the quality of your " gear" placements. WEll maidy, you are "welcome", to "try", if you can "keep up". I'm all in favor of "checking out", your "belay", but I need to know what sort of "device" you 'use". At any rate, I "have a feeling", that you could be "trained", and that you woudl find the "arrangement" mutually "satisfying". I assure you my "placements", are made with great "precision and care". Nobody has ever "complained". You could say my "gear" never "comes out" til the "job" is "done". But I am into "first ascents", I hope you don't have a "problem" with that.

what are you guys laughing at? I was talking about climbing, jeeze gimme a break here. Climbing is serious. Maidy, I will use protection from time to time, but I like to free solo, under the right conditions. You get that one perfect climb, and stick with it.

He prefers bareback. and from the videos i've seen, he pulls on his tools like a mofo. just rams his picks into a pocket, then yards are hard as he can. Brent

By the way Brent- I was comparing your trad rack (see Brent's profile) to Dirt's (see Dirt's profile). Your's seems somewhat ... diminutive by comparison.
