Anybody have any recommendations for rock shoe resolers that have a fast turn around time? Thanks.

I was very happy with Yosemite Bum's work and turnaround on my shoes. Time from when I dropped them at the post office to when they were back in my possession was only nine days. :!: I just sent another pair to them last week, we'll see if things are any slower due to the time of year.

Even without fast turnaround, I'd still use Yosemite Bum. My shoes were like brand new when I got them back.

yosemite bum does do good work, but i think they only do Trax rubber, so if you dont want that look elsewhere. Komitos boots in Estes Park, Co does great work quickly, highly recommended

Ditto Yosemite Bum. http://www.yosemitebum.com/

Good work, pretty quick, competitive rates (at least they were a couple years ago). Whatever rubber they put on is lasting longer and is better than the original rubber on my Mythos.

I sent my shoes to the Rubber Room for resoling and they did a great job.
I have had many climbing partners also send theirs there and have works out good.

I've been very happy with The Friction Fix, although I can't recall their turn-around time. You can always call to see how long it would take. Edited to add you have a choice of different rubbers, thickness, etc. The order forms I have buried at the house are old, so you should contact directly for current rates and options.

If you search rc.com, you'll find reviews for lots of stuff; follow the links from the Gear link at the top of the page. Here is the specific url for reviews of Yosemite Bum and the Trax rubber: http://www.rockclimbing.com/...ct.php?p=2317&list=1

Obviously some people really like Trax (including me), others seem to hate it. Yosemite Bum will resole with other rubber but you have to provide it.

Rock & Resole in Boulder, CO.

http://www.rockandresole.com

They resole with either Sportiva's Xsv or C4. I haven't used them myself, but a couple of my climbing partners have and they were very happy with the work.

I'll drop a plug for Positive Resoles in Joshua Tree. Great people, and I've had no problems with their resoling so far.

Yosemite Bum does have very good customer service and very fast turn around time. I had my scarpa resole with the new evolve trax rubber and I like it more than my old 5.10 ascent.
However beware that your shoes could loosen up by up to a size, that happened to mine. I had to use mine as a backup since the resole because it no longer fit like before.

For the Vancouver area try The Quick Cobbler on Dennman
http://www.quickcobbler.com/repairs/rock
There is also Gold Star on Dunbar
http://www.goldstarshoerebuilders.com/service3
I have had numerous boot resoles done at the Quick Cobbler but never climbing shoes. My buddies and others recommend Gold star for climbing shoes. Hope this helps.

in the Seattle area, I'm a big fan of Ramuta's Resoles, http://www.ramutasresoles.com/

they have done amazing things for my miuras when i wore all the way through the lining. They also have a service where you can drop your shoes off at one of the Vertical World gyms and pick them up when theyre done (avoid parking in the city...)

I did and they even offered to give me a partial refund. They do have it in their disclaimer that's a problem that can happen.
They did a great job though, shoes were like new, so I didn't bother.
Those scarpas are now my comfort shoes for multipitch routes.

if you find yourself in indian creek or wild iris any time soon, look for a guy named alf living out of a white ford pickup with a slide-in camper.

he resoles shoes for thirty bucks, give or take, and can usually turn them around in about an hour, while you watch.

totally serious.

The rubber room is more expensive, but I have heard nothing but good reviews about their work.
If you can.... I would also get a pair from Acopa. They have the best rubber.. Seriously, it really is great stuff... Plus, you should have two pairs of climbing shoes anyway. Shoes have a habit of falling apart without warning during trips. It is nice to have a backup at all times.

I had a pair of Katanas resoled at Yosemite Bum last month. I've also noticed that they seem bigger; I was expecting them shrink. They aren't nearly as tight in the toe. I'm not sure if I like the rubber or not as I've only been climbing three times in the gym since I got them back, but it seems okay. I'll have to see how they handle outside (next week...yay!!).

The turn around time was good and so was the price so it was worth a try. Do you think I should call them on the stretching or whatever happened?

Ah, good old Alf. He does do a good job, and he is quick.

I have used friction fix in WV and while their turn around time is a little long, they do the best job I have ever seen.

I'll put a vote in for the friction fix as well. Turn around time is ~ 2wks. They've always done excellent work on my shoes. Rubber is stealth C4 or XSV. 32.00/pair, 10.00/rand, 4.00 s&h. PM me, and I will email you a form if you need one.
