Has anyone made it to Lion's Head yet this year? What would it be like this time a year?

It sounds like it should be nice on Sunday.......anyone interested? If not Lion's Head, anywhere else...?

a friend of mine(findingit) up there said it was starting to get nice. but you should try and find something that doesn't face north. I don't know the area very well, so can't suggest what to get one.

good luck!

Neil, lion's head will be very cool unless you can manage to be in the sun and the wind is nil. But Cape Croker is fantastic in this weather, I went last weekend. Best time there is from about 11-4 when the sun is directly on the cliff. There's a decent mix of sport and trad there.

David,
I know i know! this summer, perhaps? Is there much trad there, though??? I also heard metcalf was pretty good for trad.

Speaking of good areas...bancroft. Maybe the rope gun (aka, chossmonkey) and I can head up to the eagles nest and put up some routes?!!?!? :D Nate..did you read that?!?!

Please do, our bunkhouse will be ready for guests (it's actually ready now, but mostly devoted to tools and gear storage). We also have a couple spare beds in the house :)

Brent the trad up here is typical of the escarpment throughout Ont.
It ranges from splitter cracks (few but fantastic) to typical limestone don't-trust-an-effin placement. Enough to warrant an extra bag with your rack when you come.

As I sit here, the sun is filling up the house and there's only the slightest speck of snow dotting the forest floor. I had the dogs out today and had to remove my fleece due to the balminess of the 9 degree weather.

That being said I think I'll be heading southwards this weekend to hit the city and maybe get a day in at Buffalo or something. Need supplies ya know....

I turned my head for two seconds and it was gone. :?

I was out at R.S. point today. Not only did we have the place to ourselves, but it was so hot we could climb in T-shirts.

The season of nice days in beginning.

enjoy.

Fortunately most of the 5 million aren't rock climbers, and most of the of the few who are climbers have to work during the week.

Ahh the life of the under-employed.

Don't be too jealous, r.s. point is still a polished grease fest. But you can be home in time for dinner.

hehe all the more reason to climb there in the friction friendly temperatures....

and you forget the guided school groups and bottle chuckers that will soon be frequenting......wait, the bottle chuckers were at kelso......or was that bottle glass crag....i'm confused.

on the flipside, Toronto has to be the best place to pick up used-ish gear....tons of people buying racks for fun and offloading them after a day or two. But I guess it's like that around any of the big cities....

Anyways, rattlesnake on sunday? anyone?

happy spring mis amigos...

Hey Clint, Mr. Monkey and I may head to Rattlesnake or Buffalo this weekend (we were at Rattlesnake last weekend, get pretty busy on the west end, but the east end remained pretty quiet).

But if we're lazy and don't want to drive that far we may just hit up the Glen instead. You're welcome to join us for a bouldering session if we do that though.

Brent, you were spoiled going to Nemo last summer....there's a reason that Rattlesnake is referred to as "the beach".
