sizes 5-10, except for 7, for a third off: http://www.hudsontrail.com/clearancesubcat/9/481/ Hexes may seem like a cheap way to get started in trad. About $1000 from now you'll know better, tho. Take your $70 you were going to spend on hexes and buy 2 old style camalots off of the same site, you won't regret it. PM me about D-Lake, I just moved to chicago in the fall and haven't made it up there yet. Once the weather gets legit I'd be more than willing to provide the rack if you want to show a new local around.

maybe I'll take your advice about the cams instead, but I've also heard of some people's entire trad racks consisting of two sets of the curved hexes and maybe only 2 or 3 cams. I think I'm only going to buy the hexes now if a spectacular deal comes along. I'll still PM you about D's Lake though.

I don't want to hijack your thread, I just want to say that a lot of people feel like landgolier does. There are also a lot of people (me included) that like their hexes and still carry them. You probably won't know what you prefer until you have more experience. The way I see it, hexes are cheap so even if later you decide to only carry cams at least you didn't blow too much money. I have the Metolius hexes and I think they are awesome. If you actually want more of my opinion you can pm me. I'll stop hijacking your thread now.

I agree with Ubotch AND Landgolier....this would be my second set of hexes that I'm selling, as I too love my passive gear, and keep a set on my rack. But really, it comes down to personal preference. Cams are easy, but expensive. Hexes, nuts/stoppers, tri-cams, less expensive, but also easy if you ask me. If you're crack climbing where you live, you be smarter buying cams....otherwise, the hexes are great and having a variety on your rack can come in handy many times over....good luck! cheers,
