We were climbing ribs at the Gunks yesterday, June 5. Though a very good climber, my partner is not the most experienced leader, and got a little off route. He placed a brand new .75 C4 to the right of the tree just below the top of the second pitch, and realized that he was on the wrong side of that tree. He never ended up clipping the piece and it was left behind. I know the chances of getting the piece back are slim to none, especially because the piece was placed maybe 3 times, but if anyone comes across it, a PM would be rad.
Thank you

If he didn't clip the piece, how come he/she just left it there ?
Why didn't second clean it on his/her way up ?

For a love of God it's a brand new cam,
