Hey all,

It looks like there are a bunch of you who post here frequently who are kind enough to partner up with newbies (either to climbing or to the area). I was wondering if any of you fine people would be willing to show me around to some of your local crags. I live in the Washington, DC area, and I'll be in Denver for a conference in a few weeks. I'd like to stay a few extra days and do a bit of climbing out there. I'm mostly interested in sport (gasp!...I know...) and bouldering not too, too far from Denver. I think I'll be renting a car, so I'd be happy to drive. Or, I can pay for gas and beer. Whatever works. : )

My conference ends on Thursday the 22nd at noon. I'd like to stop a few places in the city and drop off some resumes (haven't had much luck job-shopping from out here on the east coast), but I'm free after that. (Maybe flying out Saturday afternoon? Or Sunday morning? I'm not sure.)

Just for sake of letting you know what you're getting into, I'm an intermediate level climber, just started about 2 years ago. I can lead in the 5.10 a/b range on a good day ; ), and am working on V3/V4 at my limit right now. Happy to climb all grades. I always try to be very safe and love to learn whatever people have to teach...both climbing and safety techniques.

So, that's it. Please let me know if I can tag along with some of you while I'm out there. Thanks!

Alyce

I can bring my camping stuff, no problem.

Alyce, let us know a day or two before you are supposed to be in town. Being around all this rock means plans change on a daily sometimes hourly basis.

Good climbing with everyone last night. It looked like it could be a wash, but the weather turned out perfect. According to Don it was pouring at the mouth of the canyon. The beer was good last night. Micah enjoyed having that "Speckled Cock" in his mouth...

Good times last night! Good people, good climbing, and aside from the goat at the first timers initiation all went well.

I'll be around after noon on Saturday, and the same for Sunday. If anyone is going to be around town Saturday afternoon (or wait until eve for cooler weather) let me know and we can get out. Sunday I am mountain biking in the morning, but am up for some Denver area climbing so let me know.

Much appreciated for the time ladies and gents. Looking forward to more climbs and beers in the future...well at least until July 22.

OH YA, can some give me directions to post pics into my profile. Taking them from my hard drive to posting....

Ya might try sending a pm to Phil-mankyanchor. He's getting out Saturday afternoon after a (std!) test. I may or may not be in on that action for Saturday. Sunday I am definitely hitting up Devil's Head, that is kind of an all day affair.

So, looks like there will be 5 of us for Sunday. Hmmm, I think I'll bake. What time should we meet and where?

So, any ideas on when and where to meet? It would be nice to carpool. I live between Cindy and Zozo but am not sure about everyone else. Dave, what "7 climbs" do you have in mind?

These

Cindy hurt her shoulder and wont be climbing with us 8^) but she is still coming and will act as the group photog, encouragement shouter and baker of all things brownies.

Cindy was thinking of places to meet and what time. Probably meet 7:30 or 8:00 is my guess.

Hi,
I'm working a 9-5 internship this summer in Boulder and am looking for climbing partners for after work and on the weekends. I lead 5.10 trad and enjoy sport climbing and alpine rock climbing as well. I've been climbing safely for 6 years and have a car and lots of gear. Would anybody like to climb this weekend?
Cheers,
-Dan

HOLY SHIT,

The Firefighter Calendar Contest was HOT!

God Bless America!

Josh, darlin', you kicked ass. Watching you dance on the catwalk to the sounds of "I'm Too Sexy" was the best. You got da moves!

Best of Luck, Flamer!

BTW, the guy sitting at my table who is of the Dream Canyon sort, said, "O My God, I just ovulated."

hahahahahahaha

Happy Hour Craggin'
O.k. obvious stupid question #1 - Is this a weekly climb thing and on which days. #2 - I am a total beginner and curious if begineers are allowed or at least to watch to learn

Yes, this is a weekly climbing thing. Normally Thursday and maybe Tuesday. Eveyone is welcome regardless of skill. Killclimbz usually posts something on Thurs. Due to my schedule I have not been able to make it lately, but it's always a good time.

Is it just me, or is something really, really wrong here. The "dude" ogling flamer was obviously someone who didn't buy the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Unless it was for makeup tips.

I live in Golden if you're willing to climb with a intermediate. I can be back in Golden 5:30pm weekdays, sometime earlier. I'm new to the area and looking for a crew to climb with. Give me a shout mcdelroy@yahoo.com

Thursday nights. If you just watch, you must buy at least 2 rounds of beer. If you want a belay, you must buy a round of beer for each belay.

Oh, and you have to bring me pink tape. Climbsomething got me hooked on the stuff. It matches my rope.

Jez messin' widcha. You're welcome to join us. Like Jay said, Gary usually posts the location on Thursday mornings.

Yeah, and his 'buddy' said, "pass me the lip gloss, I licked all mine off."

Hysterical!
