Well my partner goes in for some serious surgery this monday

wow...i missed the coffee shop in the morning

FUCK DO I NEED A CUP RIGHT NOW

well, ross (my partner) called me, he's back in town....he ended up going back to the rockies after his testing for a short bit...and he (and the gf) just got back in to vancity 3 hours ago.....pre-op tomorrow...and another sunday and monday is his actual scheduled surgery date.....after i got off the phone with him 2 hours ago i fucking threw up pretty bad....i feel like fucking shit (full of anxiety)......he'll should be at VGH (vancouver general hospital) for about a week or so in recovery....and he'll be in vancouver for afew additional weeks so the doctors can run more testing

this saturday we're going to lighthouse park for some sea cliff climbing (consider ross won't be climbing till winter 07 if he's lucky)...then polish the day off with some crab fishing, something me and ross use to do ALL the time back when he use to live in vancouver...i've invited missedyno aka crazy-foxy-lady....hope ya can make it

and i'll probably take wednesday off school to go visit him in the hospital.....think i'll swing by MEC and buy ross a new C3 as a get better present.....and take a card to get our old co-workers at MEC to sign....i think that'll be nice

another cool thing is, my dad is a super for a construction company that specializes in hospital renos...and he's got afew sites down at VGH; so my old man can visit ross and his gf...

if ya didn't catch a post a week ago in a coffee thread, i posted>>
about a month ago ross found out that he has a tumor next to his brain which is putting pressure on his optical nerve causing him to go blind...thankfully there were symptoms and the doctors were able to find out right away...

course, like i said with the whole "just throwing up" part, i'm totally fucking freaked out....

here's some happier moments:

^^^Ross Enjoying a Guinness from a Measuring Cup at the Jasper Hostel

http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p.cgi?Detailed=53432
^^^Ross on Cinnamon Slab in Smith Rocks

http://www.rockclimbing.com/...p.cgi?Detailed=74666
^^^ Ross giving me a thumbs up in Icile Canyon in Leavenworth Washington...this was a slaughter of a gong show of a climb...all 5.6 or 5.7 choss... full 60m pitch with the only pro were a .75 camalot and a 1.75 dmm 3cu in the middle both conected to a screamer; bomber stations at least...we were attempting to linkup with the classic R&B which 2 parties of newbs were at a dead stop on the first 2 pitches....we climbed it the following day with RCcola.com's own RUSSMAN...which was his first multi-pitch climb...and later that day ross belayed Russman on his first Trad lead...super cool day

Hard news Phil,

Pass on my best wishes. You are buying a guy who will not be able to climb for a year a new cam? That is either really cool or a real torture and I am not sure which

The measuring cup of guiness is a riot ... Russ seems like a cool character!

ya brian, i'm not sure if the cam is incouragement or a cheap sudstitute (kinda like porn) ....not that i want him back on the rock right away, he oviously needs time to recover, but its the waiting for his return so he can de-flower that cam on some knarley route...maybe Klahine Crack or something of the like

Hey Tat, best of luck to your friend, /turns on ultrasecret good-climber-vibes machine.

I remember some of the stories about you 2 from Jono's and Ross always sounded like a great guy.

 That was a great route! I bet the piece would be good on the World's Toughest Milkman as well!

Hopefully the three of us will be out getting scared on the granite after his recovery!

Well...we got rained out at Lighthouse Park...sp we ended up spending 12 hours crab fishing....we were only doing caught-and-release....caught 14 legal sized crabs (8or so being red rock crabs)

ended leaving with ross my rope, some TR gear, a few cams and a set of nuts; him and the gf will try climbing again tomorrow....

he's still in pretty good spirits.....he attempted the whole "if i die..." shit, which i jokely told him to shutup...neither of us need that stuff on the mind.....but he's still keeping positive....

gonna bring him my moms portable dvd player on tuesday at the hospital....also leaving him my futrama vol 4, family guy vol 1, 2 and 3, and prob some climbing dvds....

its also good now, his whole family will all be down here by tomorrow

and i totally know this is a big no-no....but i'm smuggling a guinness in for him tuesday

YES YESY YES YES YES!!!!!

good thinking brian!!!! considering there is a LACK..in fact a COMPLETE LACK OF ... nurses at BCIT, which is really bumming me out.,..

no matter what happens, the nurse can't be as bad as the nurse who caught me outside of visiting hours at the Surrey Mem hospital, she was the night shift head nurse of the 'family birthing unit'....OH GOD! large and in charge, i try to bullshit that i was family (which, after all, i was visiting my best friend, his gf and their daught whos my god child)...yep, she busted up my plans and kicked my ass out of that hospital....never fuck with a nurse twice your size

well, i managed to see ross this morning

he's doing awesome, dropped off my moms portable dvd player and ALL my family guy dvds...as well as the #2 C3....he wanted me to take the cam back so i could at least use it, but i told him "the De-flowering of that cherry was all [his]"....hes actually walking around and he maybe released this friday.....though, his right eye is swollen shut and that half of his head is also pretty swollen....and he was doped up pretty good, but not too fucked up or in too much pain for him and me to start quoting Goldmember and Dr. Evil (a thing we do ALOT!!)...

i'm feeling a hell of alot better now

so far, everything is going according to plan....ross was in surgery for 10 hours on monday and everything went well
