Does anyone know of any good bouldering areas with camping nearby around the Alabama/Tennessee border?

Yeah, HP40 is the prime spot for bouldering. Sandrock is suppose to have quite a bit too, but I've only ever climbed there. I would be very leary about bouldering at HP40 this time of year. Especially if you're making a special trip for it (if you're just in the area then go for it!). It's kinda sorta really friggin hot and humid right now and HP40 is mainly slopey stuff (but not entirely) Things tend to not stick once the temps get over a million degrees....like in August, in the south. Which sucks if you wanna climb hard, but good, because it'll make all the V0's V7's. Way to up a route!

The best guide book for the area that I'm aware of is the one you download off Dr. Topo. Camping there is $8 and they have running water, flushing toilets, working showers, and a restaurant. Plus, the family who owns the land is super nice.
