Met Staticbuz in Ventura and led him up Tree Line (5.4) on Sespe Gorge (aka Tree Root on the Black Wall) in Ojai. This was his first multipitch trad route and he really seemed to love it.

I climbed at Lumpy Ridge on Saturday, bought a washer/dryer and broke up with my girlfriend on Sunday, and went climbing in Castlewood Canyon on Monday after working in the morning.

Bowls and stargazing on the beach. Lebanese takeout and live jazz in the streets. Giving a friend her first taste of real rock at the Glen. Late night movie marathon.

no climbing for me this weekend.. I had to go to a GREAT (pphhtt) wedding in Sudbury... only good thing was sexy brides maids, and all the free canidian i could ever ask for.. when i got back home, i had to start packing. i'm (well, did 2 days ago) moving into a basement appartment closer to my collage. So, i'm now one of those really crazy climber guys, living on his own. living by his own free will, doing what he pleases. Well, i WAAS doing that back home but now i dont have to worry that my mom is going to yell at me for being loud or for drinking to much beer.. --------- Cheers!!! ~mark

Road trip with a fellow Indiana climber who wanted to experience some rock other than the Red River Gorge, so I took her to the northern CO front range. 16 hour drive, but we climbed: East Face, 1st Flatiron - 5.6, 10 pitches Rewritten, Eldorado Canyon - 5.7, 6 pitches Bastile Crack, Eldo - 5.7, 1st pitch only Osiris, Lumpy Ridge - 5.7, 5 pitches Cold Finger, Vedauwoo - 5.7, 1 pitch The Hole, Vedauwoo - 5.7, 2 pitches EO Lieback, Vedauwoo - 5.5, 1 pitch EO Friction, Vedauwoo - 5.5, 1 pitch Drop Zone, Vedauwoo - 5.9+/10a, 1 pitch Edward's Crack, Vedauwoo - 5.7, 2 pitches We also did a 10 mile round-trip hike up to Andrews Glacier in Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park with the intent of climbing NE Ridge of Sharkstooth (5.6, 6 pitches), but we missed a trail junction in the pre-dawn hours, and with short time, questionable weather, no sunscreen, and a broken camera, decided it was not meant to be, so we hiked out and went to Vedauwoo. We didn't climb anything terribly hard, but had a fine time anyway. It's always nice to get out west on high quality rock. Must be careful of mountain storms, though - nothing quite as scary as standing up on the ridge of the flatiron as an electic storm is rolling in and having your helmet start to buzz from the static in the air. 16 hour drive back to Bloomington from Vedauwoo sucked, but 29 pitches and a 10 mile hike in RMNP (with gear) in 4 days was a decent undertaking. Went to Malibu on Saturday and did a few routes in the Ghetto. Worked on Ghetto Blaster (13b) a couple times and found I'm still nowhere near strong enough to send. Spent the rest of the day swimming, and all day Sunday doing the same (108 degrees at the house). Monday was the best, got to see my 8 year old daughter cruise to the top of a rock wall at a party in her barefeet after the guy claimed it was "pretty hard" hehehe.

Climbed the east ridge of mt. edith cavell, pretty easy half day. THen went to Jasper and got drunk on a park bench and listened to a mormon preach to us about god. We were two atheists, pretty amusing. Went to try the NF of Athabasca on Sunday, but conditions were horrible, snow and rain, so went sport climbing at grassi. Froze my ass off, so got drunk at the highland games. I was to hung over to do much climbing the next day, so I reduced myself to some bouldering. Which, kink of was fun.

Sat. I hung out with my soon to be in-laws. Then Sun. we went to Santa Barbara. I climbed my first route with a chimney and a crack rated 5.7. I LOVED IT! Of course I am bruised from head to toe but man was that fun. I can't wait to do that again.

Hiked up Mt. Humphrey's (tallest point in AZ at 12,633). Went to the Grand Canyon... backpacked into Havasupai - one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen! Instead of backpacking up out of the canyon we took a helicopter ride (my first - woo hoo!)

I went climbing at Enchanted Rock by myself {hence the name}I found an old Sticht Plate and a baseball.I also met two Russians.I burned my hand grabbing the rope during a fall.Taking ascreamer with the Silent Partner will sometimes make you want to take up origami.
