I recently heard that nylon bruses will wear and fill in the pores of the rock does anyone know if there is truth to this? Does the same apply to gym holds?

Try a steel or brass wire brush instead. Those also tend to make the holds bigger so you can send more quickly.

I forgot you can't make a joke around here without emoticons ;) People using wire brushes on rock deserve equal treatment on their genitals.

How about a Sonicare? $100 and you get 9,000 rpm pulsating action. Perfect for cleaning knobs, cracks, and also for use in climbing.
