Okay, so I can officially make it this year. I don't need a ride anymore, thanks to tracy and cindy for trying to help me out.

Just thought I'd drop a line to say that I'm hoping to make it. I'm planning on it, it's on my calendar, but I'm pretty flakey when it comes to actually committing to stuff- so take this for what it is... ...a Definate Maybe.

Bring a lot of water, and I mean a lot. Bring more than what you think you need, minimum is about 2 gallons per day. I know that when I'm at shelf I guzzle about a gallon every 3-4 hours while climbing, so I need more than the minimum. Bring the usual, tent, pad, bag, food, 12 quickdraws or so.

The campground is right next to the cliffs. Literally next to them.
Directions:
Find your way to Canon City.
Go north on field ave From 50
Keep going straight till you hit a T, make a right onto red canyon road
Stay on the main road, it eventually comes to shelf road.
The Campground is sand gulch, it's on the left immediately before a Y.
You'll know you passed the campground if you start going on the shelf part of shelf road, you'll see a wall on your left and a dropoff on your right, don't try and turn around until you find a pulloff.

sorry to say that it's official : i will not be able to make it. thank you to those that pm'd offering this and that...
everything is good with my family, but among other things i don't want to miss my son's open house for kindergarden. i have spent too much time away already this year...
i will be in ouray. i hope to see many of you in january.

I am going down on Friday, probably around noon or so. I have to swing through Boulder to pick up some resoled shoes, so picking people up would not be out of my way. I have a van and can probably fit 3 passengers + gear comfortably.
