The RRGCC Rocktoberfest 2006 (http://www.rrgcc.org/rocktoberfest2006/) is coming to Miguel's and Torrent/Mark's Mountain Barbecue October 13th, 14th, & 15th featuring Jason Kehl & Katie Brown. The event will kick-off Friday night October 13th @ Miguel's with the Reel Rock Film Tour (http://www.reelrocktour.com/) premiers of First Ascent & Dosage Vol. 4. On Saturday night October 14th, Jason Kehl will be presenting his Never Let Go slideshow (http://www.cryptochild.com/Shows.html) at Torrent. We originally had John Bachar scheduled for the event but this had to be postponed until spring due to John's accident. We will have a preview of John's show following Jason's. Of course we will have the usual party - food, beer, raffle, etc. on Saturday night after the show at Mark's Mountain Barbecue. Finally, on Sunday October 15th, Katie Brown will be presenting a Girl's Climbing Clinic. Fall is the best season for climbing in Red River Gorge and Rocktoberfest is the area's premier event. So y'all make yer plans to be in Ole Kentuck this October for one heck of a goodun'.

Thanks Daniel. Gumbychick and captainstatic, this thread is also linked to the front page calendar. BTW, do not edit the first post in the thread! If you do, it'll lose the link.

Thanks for putting our posts together & in the right places. We are getting psyched now that the event is only a month away. We will feed more details as they come together. For example I just got off the phone with the beer distributor to get a pricelist & we will be studying their offerings thoroughly tonight. One Clarification... The initial messages mentions "warrior's way" occuring Saturday. This is what that means: Arno Ilgner will be doing a mental fitness clinic on Oct 14. It will consist of risk assessment, breaking a climb into decision points, and being more intentional and committed when climbing. Register with the RRGCC. Clinic time: 10am to 2pm. --- arno

We're having a raffle for a cabin that weekend. Log onto the following site. www.rrgcc.org/buy_tickets.php?ref=rc It's a great cabin! Raffle tickets are $10 a pop and the cabin sleeps 6. You get the cabin for two nights if you win, Oct. 13 and 14. The raffle runs through Oct. 11. Good luck everyone!

I neglected to mention that it's an online raffle! We hope to conduct more raffles of this kind if we're successful!

Alright, Im president of the climbing club at ETSU, and we are planning on attending... I was just wondering a few things: Is there a general registration price or is it pay per event? Is there anyway I can go ahead and sign some people up for Arno's, Wes's and Katie Brown's clinics? Is there anyway we can reserve some places at Miguels? thanks! I look forward to seeing all of you there!

You do not have to be 18. You pay $5 for registration, $5 extra for Reel Rock, $10 for Jason Kehl's Slideshow and $7 for dinner. Everything else is free! Reelrock film is sponsored in part by Rockquest from Cincinnati. Admission is generally $20-25 but Rockquest paid appx. $20 of everyone's admission fee, which enables us to offer the video for $5. Katie Brown's attendance is courtesy of Petzl. I cannot wait to see everyone. Thanks so much. BTW, the cabin raffle winner is Diane Loeffler. She and her family get to enjoy the lovely cabin for the weekend. Congrats!

Everyone attending the Reel Rock event will be entered into a separate raffle for that event. Also, the new "Women of the Red 2007" calendar will become available this weekend for $15.
