I've received an email from a user of this forum asking about embedded photos within posts as we used to do. For those of you that are confused as to where all the pretty pics are, read on: "The PCC forum isn't the same anymore without the pictures in the thread. Please do whatever you can to make an exception on the general site rule for this forum! Basically, it's the reason of the existence of this forum that pictures are critisized within the thread, without all the trouble to copy/paste links and view it in another screen..." You can now attach your pics without having to have them online by using the attachment option at the bottom of the mesage. Browse to where the photo is on your computer, click OK, then upload. Once the mesage is online the photo is viewable to other users simply by clicking the picture link at the bottom of your message. No cut & paste needed. K

In the topics listing, you'll see a papre clip beside the post name, which tells you there is an attached file. Click the topic name, it opens, then at the bottom of my post you'll see a line which reads: Attachments: santatakendown.jpg (20.2 KB) Click the link, and the photo opens in a new window all on its own. Tah dah. the Pic is my Christmas present to you all.

No, however you don't need to cut and paste the address etc. Just click the link. The file is attached to the thread, no need to navigate away, you can view the pic while commenting on it.

here is a useful bookmarklet for firefox users. Open the page, copy the text drag and drop to your bookmark toolbar. Do not bookmark the link above itself, but the code. When you click it, it will replace all the attached images with inline versions, tadaaaaa..... or here is an extended version, which inlines also linked .jpg images as well

bugfixes, please replace with the new bookmarklets embed images for rc.com bookmarklets V2 [embed attachments only] [embed attachments and linked images] V2 fixes - All attachments and images are inlined with one click now. First version missed some, and required double, triple clicks to replace all... - Links with .JPG .gif .GIF .png .PNG are also inlined. First version only replaced .jpg extensions

ok, I put them in one page, and put descriptions of how to install and use the bookmarklets. I also added google gadget there too. have fun. Here it is btw, apparently it works in IE too. Just add the bookmarklet to your favorites.
