New RC.com Better or Worse (or chicken?)

Well, the new RC.com has been up and running for a while now. I was wondering what people think about it. I miss some of the old features like turds and pics and jump to the latest post. I like being able to get on it just about every time instead of having my computer choke. What do you all think? Better? Worse? Do you like chicken? Also let's hear what you like or don't like. I'm not a moderator or anything like that, just wondering who likes chicken...
Uh oh. There's another poll bug. I just voted for all three.
I don't think that's a bug per se. IIRC, when you create a poll you can opt to allow multiple responses.
The site loads somewhat faster and is way more stable. Most features have gotten worse. And none of the suggestions I have made to make the forums more user-friendly have been implemented.

The issue that everyone is ignoring here is: factory farming.
Now hear me out, an RC.com user's enjoyment of the website is in direct relation to the amount, quality, and scale of factory farms mass producing chickens. At the same time the new rc.com came up THREE new major chicken farms were opened.
So if everyone would just stop, take a breath, and think for a second, they would realize they aren't frustrated with embedded photos or the routes database, they have a deep and lasting pang in their conscience because of the horrors of huge agri-companies policies on raising chickens. THAT is why people have a problem with the site.

I had a feeling that the 'chicken thing' would come up so I opted to allow for multiple responses in the poll. Of course it is possible that it is better, worse and you like chicken. Just trying to keep it real folks.

I like the site.
I would like to compare it to having a good CORE.
We have a very good base to start from. All the muscles and appendages attached can be only as strong as the base. Moving on to strengthen the entire body can be done with confidence after having a good base.
The site has put in the time to do the crunches and lower back extensions. It will be able to start adding on the other great things we all love.
I am also very eager for the other minor changes to take place, but they have so far accomplished what they said they would do. The site is more stable and it is faster. I also would like to point out that some features that people are complaining about weren't always on the old RC.com. The turds and trophies were add-ons to that site too.

Think Chappele Show.
We new season 3 would never be as good as the first two.
Change is scary. When you change something and you loose the ability do to what you could before, its scary and makes you angry that someone took it away.
So far, I have become accustomed to the new site, but I still miss the old one. I am still unhappy that I lost the abilities I had before, but I have other things to spend my time thinking about.

All I really want is embedded pictures back in the threads. I really hate having to link to pics all the time. Other than that the new site suits my needs rather well.

Yes, pictures and kill files so we can ignore people.

I like chicken. It's nice that you can set preferences to go to the first new post to a thread, which is more handy in some ways than the last post of the thread. Still, that was a nice feature.
I miss the 'My Threads' link. If I'm going to get email when someone posts to a thread, I'd rather it not be just when they respond to me. Directing those or the 'Watched Threads' emails to the rc.com account was a good suggestion I believe Jay suggested.
I don't know that I'm wild about the new color scheme, and the logo. I liked being able to scroll through the last page of comments when replying to a thread. I was just getting used to the drop-down menus.
The speed is much better, the site seems less buggy, and the spell check is certainly a lot less buggy (although it doesn't seem any more popular). I'm getting used to the new site, but it's lacking some of the features I assumed were no-brainers to bring over.
i really dislike that I can't access new routes or photos by state. I really like to see what's new in my state and what climbing activity is being done here. Now I would have to sort through every picture or new route submitted so i don't do it and in fact i use the site about 10% as much as I used to. S

I don't know anything about this website programming jazz or binary code or C++ or whatever it is, OBVIOUSLY.
That being said, is the lack of some of the old features a choice made by the administrators or is this "format/program/system" that they use now just incapable of performing those features. If the admins have no choice but to sacrifice the many features that we mentioned here in order to use this "system/program/format" then I think its worth it for the speed and cleanliness of everything. But if they could have the features without any sacrifice then why the hell haven't they brought them back? This isn't the only thread where users have made it clear what they miss. Just curious.

i hate it, it might be the ugliest webpage on the internet. so what if it was slow, at least the front page pic was generally worth the wait. i liked the old forum system far more than what we have now, which seems clunky. the other one was far more intuitive. reading posts now actually hurts my eyes. the old page felt exciting, this one dead. who cares if it loads faster, i use far less now.
