Give up now because the rest is going to be way to complicated and to much effort for you.

Photoshop will do it, but you have to buy that. Any image editing software can resize, its like, the easiest thing you can do. (resize to 1333x2000 pixels at 300 dpi, or like 4in by 6in at 300 dpi) -Danno

300dpi is generally what you'd work with for print, but if (as these are) the files are for viewing on screen only, save them at 72 dpi

I usually just go baseline 300 dpi, I have a pretty big monitor and stuff doesn't look good at anything less than 300 dpi, besides, with the new format, I crop my photos at 1333x2000x300 dpi with the 11/12 JPG save in Photoshop.

wanlessrm, A program that I like is called Batch Thumbs by Harm Ware. It's a free program you can download off the internet. User-friendly and lets you resize multiple photos to any size. If you need, PM me and I'll send via e-mail.

If you want to print it, one (300dpi) will print smaller than the other (72dpi), thats all... Setting the dpi is unnecessary until you print something.

deepplaymedia wrote: i strongly suspect that your monitor is actually only capable of displaying 72dpi No longer true (although still an appropriate point) "The normal resolution on most systems is 96 dpi. Until recently, most computer hardware was not capable of producing higher resolution, but this is changing. Several hardware manufacturers, particularly manufacturers of laptop systems, are building systems capable of producing higher resolution. These systems will be available before the end of the year 2001." -Microsoft And the Apple Cinema Displays are supposed to run at 100dpi...alas all that "common knowledge" we spent so long aquiring is going by the wayside...

In reply to: No longer true (although still an appropriate point) agreed, this is why i chose the word 'suspect'- many systems are now capable of higher, however standard is still 72dpi
