Caffinated Tuesday

Fresh.

Real fresh coffee.

I was delighted to find out that our coffee at work this morning was harvested not more than 20 days ago. Dried, roasted, imported, and brewed to perfection. Seriously I have never had coffee this rich in flavor. To top it off a branch containing some bean buds was sent as well, and do they smell great.

Days like today I really appreciate the fact that I work with some coffee snobs. I'm going to shut up now and drink my tasty brew.

Wow. I'd immagine that would be some damn good coffee.

Went to another yoga class last night. Not as ungodly sore as after the class I had last week. I started to tell the yoga instructor about how I hurt myself and things I couldn't do.....I think she was in a panic the I was going to be in her class by the end of it. I'm really not that bad, there are just some key things I can't do.

I'm tired this morning. Got the morning to waste then off to PLC training. The instructor goes into too much detail, I just want to know how to program and set up the bloody thing.

If I can have some of that really good coffee I'll have that, otherwise I'll just keep sipping on my tea.

Morning folks...well, sort of.

Haven't gone to bed yet. Between the late afternoon nap, caffinated soda for dinner, coffee from the misses at home, and an obsession for research...

Though, it's getting to be about 'that' time.

G'night!

I can't remember the name of it, but apparently there's a type of coffee that is made by picking the beans out of the scat of monkeys that eat 'em.

Monkey eats the bean, digests the husk but not the inner core bean. When that core passes, it's gathered, washed (several times, one would hope), and made into the world's most expensive coffee.

Diff'rent strokes, I guess, but you'll never get me to drink it.

Folger's, please.

"Kopi Luwak does exist, is very expensive, and is made from coffee beans passed through the digestive system of an Indonesian animal, but it's more like a cat than a monkey. According to a feature article by the Manila Coffee House, which sells the stuff, the people who harvest the digested beans don't really have to pick through cat litter to get it. The animal processes the beans and excretes them whole, unscratched, and without dung.

The animal is a palm civet, a dark brown tree-dwelling cat-like creature found throughout Southeast Asia. The scientific name is paradoxurus hermaphroditus.

According to the Manila Coffee House, the palm civet just happens to like to ingest the ripest and reddest coffee beans, which also happen to be the ones best for brewing. The cat eats the outer covering of the beans in the same way that is accomplished by de-pulping machines. this is my favorite part Something happens to the beans in the journey through the cat's intestines that gives it a flavor that is celebrated by coffee drinkers.

At this point, most of the beans are purchased by Japanese buyers."

I am rarely shocked by what some people will consider food, but I do often wonder who the first guy was that thought of it.

"hey Bob, I bet those beans in that civet shit might be pretty tatsy. Wanna try?"

Cat, monkey.... who cares? You're still drinking coffee made from beans that have been through the colon of a four legged mammal.

I very much enjoy sugar that has been digested by micro-organisms. I drink it by the bottle.

Morning yinz.
23oz this morning.
Had to walk. My wife's car is in for repairs.
Intake manifold gasket is leaking. 2001 Chevy Malibu. It is a common problem with 6cyl GM engines. I lucked out a few times before when I thought it was leaking due to loss of coolant, but this time it actually is.
$600-$700 to fix it.
Oh well. The tax return should be direct deposited sometime soon, and I have a new deduction in the house. Time to start working on kid #3, eh? heh.

Hey Ma, found that the local grocery store carries that Kicking Horse coffee in the organic section. I like a dark blend and they seemed to have a good selection (the had the Kick Ass one at least).

You drink that, right? Which ones would you recomend?

They also have a 454 Dark roast but it's acidy and sharp, not nearly as nice as the Kickass. I'm just finishing up my Kooteny Crossing, Maybe I'll wawlk down to the local organic food store and try something else. variety is teh spice of life right?

Out coffee here at work lies somewhere between the Caffeteria-over-sooked -swill and the High-priced-indo-cat-crapped-out-stuff. Clsoer to the lower end I'm afraid. It's better than Foldgers but not much....
XL Regular please...it'llhaveto do for now Wink
