Were they the same problems that were on bouldering.com? I didn't get a chance to check out the extras.

Some things to think about:
1. It was the most beautiful location i have ever seen and the digital grading was on par with big hollywood productions
2. Grades r dum
3. The routes were HARD --- very hard.
4. Ceder wright is a badass. To say a climber is gay because hes eccentric is like saying your 5 because you still live with your parents and your mom makes you dinner every night :D Cosa Nosta, numerous 5.11+ solos.... good luck getting a strong plastic puller to do that.

When i watch climbing movies its really on in the background, something i can look at and go "oh cool." They talked about their ascents minutes after a send, most climbing films ar elike sex, climbclimbclimbclimbCLIMBCLIMBCLIMBBAM!! FA!!!!11111 /start credits. It's nice to see the ideas and the reasoning from some of the best.

3.5/5 stars in my opinion.. could be a bit better, but its no "friction addiction"

I would agree that the scenery was spectacular.

I'm not sure if this was just the way we had out speakers setup but did you notice a lot of sound in the video from the climbers' shoes scraping up the wall while they were climbing?

Finally someone hit on the technical flaw. Mr. Fryberger at least spared us base jumping and slacklining. I doubt many people(including the major sponsors) would disagree that the filming was impeccable but the artistic direction would have been better placed on someone with a better chance of success on an experimental film. Yea, Cedar came off as pretty ghey in the self centered world of perceived image we call a bouldering community. Go over to the taco and ask Ninov if he has a problem curling up next to the guy on a wall. Really draw him out with language that is sure to get a reaction. USE YOUR REAL NAME.

I think that the attempt to capitalize on the hip trading places theme was taken in the completely ass backward direction anyone with sense would have taken it. Put some drugged up boulderer on a trad trip and watch the hijinks when his stash runs out a few thousand feet above the floor. Meaning, anyone familiar with the Black Hills video knows he can boulder. Throw the neccesary money at him if he pushes out of his comfort level (sorry boyo you don't get to costar)and puts a midpitch V12 in the can at high altitude. He gets the chance to play with the beauty of the grand scale and ultimately makes a movie with enough geekery (porn) and substance(boulderer moved to vocalize intelligent thought) we end up with a HD movie most of our family can sit through enjoyably.

Maybe I just think the joint smoking boulderer would reawaken the lifeblood of the trad world. I miss the idea of Chongo.

It was the most horrendous thing I have ever seen. The film quality and cinematography were terrible, the dialogue was painfully boring, the story was stupid, Cedar came off as a retard, etc, etc. I saw absolutely no redeeming factors in this film. The fact the scenery was nice had nothing to do with the filmmaker. I walked out after about 3/4 of the movie. I seriously couldn't take it anymore.

chainsaw....you wrote your disgust for this film better than me!! thank you....i was wondering when someone was going to go out and say it was top ten worst films of all time, hell its in the top 3!!

one thing that keeps coming up in all these replys is: the movie sucks serious ass, and ceder is pretty much the queerest person to ever live. and that might need to be restated, cause im sure there is some gay dude out there that is way cooler than ceder.

My favorite remembrance of the only time I sat through it in its entireity. Someone dutifully notices DW's profanity laden screams are censored. After extinguishing his phallic rage he lays on the ground moaning the defeat of his advances. Whatever else it is, there are no angry fucks in this movie. not a one.

Good call on Fred N. Why isn't he in every climbing vid ever made!?!?!?!?

I think it is probably on purpose that Fred is always one step ahead of the crowds with cameras repeating and bashing the grading of his FA's
all i have to say is....dab. i dont blame him for being anticamera, he knows what he can do and screw what a bunch of idiots can trash him for because they cant outclimb him.
