How does a crack project go up? Does that mean you bolt it? Seems like the crack was there, is still there, will still be there... Bolted lines "go up." Am I missing something in the current lingo, or did a crack just get bolted?

I'm hoping, since this is a buildering thread, that "went up" means construction not bolting. At any rate, this is completely confusing.

Haha, OOPS! Buildering! Crazy So, does "went up" mean that buildings were constructed, or they were climbed, in which case why are they "projects?"

Just to end some of the confusion. I am obviously not up on my climbing lingo. None of these problems have been sent and by went up, I only ment that they were found and tried. Again I apologize about the confusion. No bolted routes, only buildering, or bridgering. Just curious, everyone that responded are you planning on trying these climbs or are you just critiquing everyone on RC.com??? Thank you all for the editing though...

I am going to assume that is a rhetorical question.Wink
(I don't see any of us traveling across multiple states, let alone oceans, to go buildering...)

PS, your lingo was fine. "went up" just would've been better as "discovered". I understood what you meant (you should be flattered, I can be a bit slow at times)

keenan,

The fun(ny) way of looking it at is that your post read like the Sonic BLT commercial when one of the guys wants a BLtizzle and his friend describes him as "street." The direct way of saying it is that you didn't communicate well and then tried to pass off people questioning your poor first attempt at communication as a problem endemic to the site. If it pisses you off that people can't understand you, then try being more understandable. If it's unsufferable that people engaged in communication rubbernecking because of your mild misuse of lingo then either find friends who are more "street" and know "what's going up" and live close enough to send your v2 buildering projects or simply try to communicate.

First off all, I would like to apologize. I never meant to make a stir. Just had a couple of very frustrating days. So, I am just a little edgy. I also never claimed to be street. I just love climbing and the nearest crag being two and a half hours away, you have to do what you gotta do. The whole lingo thing, isn't really that big of a deal. We are different climbers from different areas and I am sure that there are climbers in wisconsin that would have corrected me as well. So no hard feelings... And thank you for your insight.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I normally try to make it to a couple of crags a year. As a matter of fact there is a guy that climbs here in wisconsin that used to live and climb in Virginia.
