I'm fairly new to climbing, pretty weak, i have to say. but i'm slowly getting stronger. I work at a local gym so i talk to a lot of strong climbers, so i hear a lot of stuff Question 1: My buddy says climbing on a wall with a small 30 degree will make me stronger than climbing in the cave/roof/ belly whatever you like to call it. Is this true. Question 2: I can climb just about any V0 to V2 without a too much work. Cave or slab anything usually. However, i'm having the hardest time breaking the V3 mark, i can make it up most till i hit the crux then i'm screwed. Any advice or info?

Get a good mix of wall degrees and improve all around. Climbing at 30 degrees will make you stronger at 30 degrees but what happens when you have to do a 45+ degree wall or even a slab?

Yeah man just mix it up. Climb every possible type of angle/setup you possibly can. Keep those muscles adapting.

In reply to: Question 1: My buddy says climbing on a wall with a small 30 degree will make me stronger than climbing in the cave/roof/ belly whatever you like to call it. Is this true yes it is true....you need to improve your strength and power by practicing endurance on overhang.

Any advice or info? you are able to climb up to V2....its good improvement for beginner.
