Nice job, dumb ass. Didn't you read the access info on this site? It's closed, don't climb there. You're gonna ruin it for the rest of us.

I think he is pissed because he goes there with all his buds and doesn't want anyone to know they have been getting away with it too.

Or maybe I'm pissed because it's clearly listed as a closed area. I've never been there, why would I leave here to climb near charlotte? I do have some friends out there who are active in access issues. If an area is closed, then it's closed. Have a little respect. Come on, trespassing is against the law, I hope you get arrested. Just don't tell them you're a climber when you do, it looks bad for the rest of us. If you're stupid enough to insist on climbing there, don't go bragging about it online.

If an area is closed to climbing, and you're not going to respect the fact that it's closed to climbing, it's not the best idea to go telling everyone. As a hypothetical, there may be someone on this site that disagrees with your stance on it and just happens to be a police officer. Or the landowner, or whatever. It's just not a good idea. I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just telling you the smart thing to do- keep quiet.

I agree with the guy that called you a dumb ass. You may not really be one, but if you get the place shut down by disregarding the closure, you are definitely borderline. If its closed then its closed. Your line about "any area thats closed is generaly an area tresspassed." is the type of attitude that gets places shut down for good. With your three years experience, you still don't know the deal? Climb somewhere else.

Is this the same area that has this mountain bike trail?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbtMeLp5YDQ First I would send a message to the section' editor http://www.rockclimbing.com/...i?username=saxfiend; and ask for the reason it is listed the way it is and/or who is working on the issue. Then contact them to learn of the access issues. I have to say that it is not listed as a closed area at the Access Fund site: http://www.accessfund.org/regions/res/NC However it is listed as closed here - Carolina Climbers Coalition - Sept 2006: http://carolinaclimbers.org/?p=74 I would contact them to learn about what is the status and what is acceptable. No matter what, it is your responsibility to find out if it is public or private land, the land managers permissions regarding access, and what other climbing groups are trying to achieve. Good Luck.

OK, let's make this simple. If you tresspass on someone's property, they become very distrustful of climbers and gives all climbers a bad name in the community. If you treat the person with respect, there's a good chance that someday we will be able to get the cliffs open again.
