I live about 45 mins away from the Evolv shop here in cali, and i got to talk to the guys there. I found out that Guys like Chris dont get paid what they're worth. A buddy at evolv told me that chris really busts his ass doing none climbing things and ofcourse he gets a good amount, the 6 figure sure is probable. But that just sux for the rest of the climbers out there. You know they must earn less. Id say the most a climber could ask for are 100% paid trips around the world with gear included you know, kinda sux,and i kinda dont wanna be a pro climber anymore

Hey now, How could we digress into a regional discussion of herbs without mentioning H county.Tis true they have the kindness there.I used to drive up twice a month from Isla Vista. While we are at it maybe we should start a new thread. Juxtoposing varying subjective views of the quality of weed based on its region. maybe a hookah lounge in the campground

Importantly, you neglected to define what a "professional climber" is. The person appearing in videos and magazines hawking gear is a professional actor or spokesperson. Their income is directly related to their marketability, and only indirectly to their actual climbing. True professional climbing is more along the lines of guiding, where the primary thing for sale is one's actual climbing effort. So who makes more money--the professional mascot, whose cash flow is based on being seen with products, or the professional climber, whose cash flow is based on the quality and quantity of actual climbing performed? (ps. I'm not a guide or anything)

Get this...I was recently in a discussion with a climbing filmaker and a petzl employee (both will remain nameless...) that swore Sharma made $50,000 a year from Petzl alone...and that the lowest, no-name full sponsered Petzl athletes made $15,000. They believed it, but that doesn't mean that I do, necessarily...
