Is there any bouldering in the San Viciente, Baja California, Mexico region? And I'll be in San Diego all Saturday and need a place to boulder. Any suggestions?

Woodson is better, but the problems are very scattered and it would be best to have a local guide. I've never been to Mt. Helix so can't comment.

Check out this place, I found it it the routes database on this site. http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/North_America/Mexico/04/La_Mision/ and don't listen to this douchebag...except for the Woodson part.

I presume that you mean "San Vicente" on Mex. Highway 1, BCN (Baja California Norte). It seems odd that you would ask about that, as it is just a little village and gasoline stop. I don't know of any climbing there. If you have a full day and want to explore, go south just a few more miles to Colonet. South of Colonet, turn inland to San Telmo and then follow dirt roads about 60 miles. Pass the Meling Ranch, and drive up into the Sierra San Pedro Martir. There is a national park, an observatory, and a wide plateau with pine forests and granite. I suppose one could boulder there on the endless granite of the eastern escarpment. The biggest boulder is Picacho del Diablo, over 10,000' elev.

Ah, San Diego. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means "a whale's vagina."
