Just at heads-up... went to Lover's Leap (So. Lake Tahoe Calif.) this weekend and found the campground closed. You can still walk in and bandit-camp, but the gate is closed, the bathrooms are locked and the water is turned off. Also pretty damn cold there. Temps at freezing overnight. Rain and snow may be on the way. If you want to go, do it NOW but be prepared to have a cold climb. Best to pick a sunny route.

This may be better suited for the regional forum... But, thanks for the heads up anyway.

Yeah, I thought of that but the stuff posted there seems to be mostly route beta. I didn't want to "pollute" up the Regional page with camping info.

Is bandit-camping illegal or frowned upon there? I've done it in the dead of winter, with heavy snow a couple of times. Is parking at the lodge okay, or is there a better place? Don't want to ruffle any feathers in the name of climbing! Jason

I did all the bolder problems there in a day. The place is dead to me now.

Quote:I did all the bolder problems in a day Yet another stimulating post by headcrank. _____________________________________________ I have no news on the (il)legality of camping in off season. All I can say is good luck. The no Gathering laws still apply though. Adam
