sizing question and general fit. need a new pair of general shoes. Wondering how these fit relative to the gallileo (i wore a 42.5) and the mocassyms (i wear a 7.5). Dont have a retailer near me in illinois so any help on sizing would be much appreciated. cheers T

I sized down 1.5 sizes from my street shoe- the fit was very tight and aggressive. These shoes rock, by the way.

They're synthetic, so they don't stretch, at all, seriously, don't buy them thinking they'll break in like the mocs. I sized mine a half size up from my mocs and my katanas, and after about a year, they havn't stretched. Depending on what you do in your 'general shoes', you may not even need something as specialized (and expensive) as the lace-ups. I only break mine out for stuff when footwork really counts, or the edges are really finiky, usually mid-.11 and up. They are the best shoes I've ever owned though, you won't be dissapointed. Addtioanlly, Zappos.com carries them, and they do free back and forth shipping, so when I got mine, I ordered 3 pairs to determine size, and they came over night, not bad. cheers, A

i almost feel like with that shoe, you might lose a little bit in translation if you sized up for comfort. Can't really say how much of a comprimise it would be, be the snugness (and stiffness) is were these shoes excel. It probably depends more on your foot shape than anything else though. I've used em for a couple crack problems, and they were bad ass, you won't be disappointed.

The old pink's or the new white? I Have the old ones in a very tight 9 (10.5 street have had moc's in 7.5-8.5 depending on what i am looking for), friends have the new ones and say they fit similarly. I'd say somewhere between street shoe and street shoe minus 1.5 depending on how accustom you are to tight shoes and how small the things you want to stand on are. I find they do stretch a bit (IE break in just enough that a thing foot jam becomes somewhat palatable). You may like the velcro or the verde more for comfort...more of a relaxed heel. Or the moc's for pure crack climbing.

thanx for the responses. how does the verde size up with the galileo and the mocs. Both are a little loose interms of vertical displacement for my foot? cheers T

I wear the Verdes in the same size as the Galileos and as the Anasazis (salmon) for the similar/same fit. Mocs, Cobras, and Venoms were all sized much smaller.

I wear the same size galileos and verdes and pinks. but for sure my size 9 verdes are slightly bigger than my size 9 pink anasazis. Are you getting the new white anasazis?

I got the new white Anasazis in the same size as my old pink ones, and they're absolutely intolerable. I keep trying to break them in, but I've failed. They're stiff as boards, the rubber is insanely thick so I have zero sensation of the rock, and they seem to have changed the fit slightly - I have wide feet and 5.10s were the one shoe I could consistently use. Not the new white Anasazi. I'm very sad - the pink lace-ups were my favorite technical edging shoe ever, and the new white ones I hate. Oh well. GO Edited to add: I have always bought all my 5.10s in the same size (Anasazi laceup, velcro, and Galilleo), and this is the first time I've had a problem.

I wear mocs in 8.5, vcs in 8.5 and 9 (for long routes) pinks in 9's and have tried on verde's in 9. All my friends have the new whites and swear by them, i haven't tried them on yet. Have you considered the Anasazi LV's (low volume)? Also can anyone compare the Jet 7's to other five ten shoes fit wise?

i wear a 9 street shoe, an 8.5 dragon laceup, a 7 sazi laceup, and jet7s in 7.5. jet7s are all hype.

i've had about four pairs of the old lace-ups, sized one whole size down from my street shoe. amazing. magic toes. i have done the same sizing for the galileo, v-mile, mocc, and jet7. i bought the mocc at the same size t=so they would stretch into a comfy all day shoe. my verde's i sized 1.5 sizes down for those climbs that really make you work for it, and they work awesome. when i was looking for a comfy shoe i thought about the verde for crack climbing, but as i went to bigger and bigger sizes, my toes were still super jammed in there, which made me go for the moccs for the all day shoe. i sound like a whore.
