...that if I hear a song first thing in the morning when I'm trying to wake up, said song gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day. I had to stop using my radio alarm clock feature because inevitably, the worst possible song would always be playing when it woke me up. For the past couple of years, my kids have been my alarm clock, and pretty reliable ones at that. So a few days ago, my oldest son (3 and a half), who by the grace of all that is holy, still likes me to rock him at night in our rocking chair, comes into our room at about 5:30 in the morning (unusually early for him). The slight sound of him walking in stirred me just enough to get me to that point of being very susceptible to getting a song stuck in my head. He walks over to my wife's side of the bed and whispers oh so softly, "I wanna rock." I was instantly transported back to 1984... I WANNA ROCK (ROCK)!!! I WANT TO ROCK (ROCK)!!! That was it. Shot out of bed unable to go back to sleep and for the rest of the day, I was head banging to images of this: It was an awesome day indeed.
