We've modified the RC.com email to automatically purge spam emails that are older than one day and trash-folder emails that are older than 90 days. However, in the initial push of this, trash emails were purged under the same parameter as spam. There's should be nothing in your trash folder now that's older than one day. I apologize if you lost anything that was valuable. Jay

Instead of making an announcement maybe you should have just sent it to everyone's inbox?

You're too nice. The last bit should read, "I apologize if you're dumb or shortsighted enough to put things you want to keep in the trash. That'll learn you."

Really? One day on the spam folder? Are you that confident at your spam filtering that you want to toss out e-mail before the recipient may even be able to scan to see if they really were spam? I don't know what the "profile" of rc.com mail users looks like, but do they really log in consistently at least every 24 hours? I'd guess not, especially on road trips. Is being that aggressive really going to save rc.com that much disk space to merit the policy? Seems like a week is more reasonable. I don't use the e-mail here, but do use yahoo's webmail. They automatically purge after a longer period, so I only scan through on maybe a weekly basis to see what was mis-filtered (there are some from time to time).

I use my email all the time, and I've never noticed it spam-foldering something that it shouldn't. But, I'm not above a tweak here and there to get things right. It won't hurt anything to bump that to a week.

Okay, this should be fixed now. I just moved a message to my spam folder. If it's still there tomorrow, case closed.
