Just a suggestion, Could we get moderators to delete the advertisement and spamming in the hot deals thread. It would be nice if it was kept toward hot deals, and questions about where hot deals could be found. Thanks, Wolfgang

No problem. It would be annoying having to hide all those posts. Edit: Maybe put a link in that thread to get the people that would like this to happen say their opinion here?

Huh, I wasn't even really aware that was happening. Would somebody mind posting a link to an example in this thread, so I don't have to hunt one down?

Users posting hot deals is a user service. Retailers posting advertisements is close to theft of service. It also doesn't necessarily pass the same level of scrutiny. They should be permabanzed!

Is it possible to put a restriction where you must have at least 20 posts to post in the hot deals thread? I think that would clear up a lot of the spammer issues. Next step would be to ban anyone for a week that tries to post an eBay deal... edit: "at least 100 posts" was a bit high

I think that a governor (so-to-say) might be a bit inhibiting of the information that we pass on this site. I've seen it on other forum boards, where as your PC increases you are granted further access into the forum boards. On one hand, it limits the amount of spam posting to the valuable forums, but on the other hand it also limits information to be viewed and commented on by newer users. I don't believe that this sort of thing is beneficial to the passing of useful information for everyone. We (the greenies) try to keep an eye on it but our numbers are limited. If you (everyone) see something that you find not inline with what should be somewhere, PM an online moderator and/or post up in this thread/forum about it. Please refrain from flaming the post/user about it. The advertising section is set up for retailers, vendors, and manufacturers and systems are set up on our end to point them to use this resource. Cheers, Jay

Looks like a few people got off topic again. Would it be possible for a mod to go and delete those posts.

adatesman wrote: Sorry... Didn't seem right for me to use my modly powers to hide evidence of a rather amusing typo in a post of mine, but they've had a couple hours to amuse themselves and its all hidden now (the mother joke pushed me over the edge on abusing the mod powers.... My mom is a wonderful woman. Stubborn at times, but defending her would have taken things even more off track.....). I still hate that keyboard on that computer, but seeing as I'm in the middle of reinstalling this one I didn't have much choice as to which one to use. Well thanks anyways... I'll post in this thread whenever that happens.
