Which was the worst thing you’ve heard from your belay, while you struggle with the crux? The worst thing I’ve heard was “Hey you, I’m sorry but I don’t know if I hold you right, don’t be afraid I’ll find someone to help you” climb on AND BELAY GOOD [ This Message was edited by: josephine on 2002-12-06 12:09 ]

When I was leading a 5.10 my belayer yelled out "don't you hate it when someone posts a forum on RC.com that has been discussed a billion times?!?!?!"

"Is the biner supposed to be pulling on the gate when I belay you?" Let's just say I've never held onto the wall so hard in my life.

"Ok, you're back on belay" (Just after pulling through a crux that left me mega pumped, he was joking of course) "What the F**K did you do that for?" (While I hung from the lip of a 3m horizontal roof, the crux of the route. I found out later on that a draw had mysteriously unclipped itself from my harness, maybe I grabbed two or it was clipped to my shirt or something, and nearly hit him) And last nights at the local gym climber: Ok, you can lock me off now. begginer belayer: Is there meant to be this much slack? (He had been taking in on the wrong side, basically belaying backwards, and the guy would've decked from about 10m if he had let go after finishing the route)

i didnt hear this but i saw it. My friend just took a good fall, like 10 feet. his belayer yells up, hey can you clip in to that bolt directly. climber was like what whats going on, but thank fully did as he was told. what happend was the belayer had only clipped one of the 2 plates on his gri gri, thank god the thing still held, and the climber cliped in direct and the problem was solve in like half a second.
