Hey everyone, This is my first post up, thought I would introduce myself and maybe find some people to climb with. I'm getting back into climbing after quite some time out. I've been climbing the new VCU gym a lot since it's "free" as a student and at Peak a few times. I've only done a little outdoor climbing and am climbing at about 5.9. I only have few friends that climb so I'm always looking for new people to climb with and learn from. If anyone ever wants to get together and go climb get in touch.

I live Richmond and I am often looking for a climbing partner. Once it warms up, perhaps we can climb at Manchester Bridge or Belle Isle.

That would be awesome. I want to try and use manchester as much as possible since it's so close. I don't have all the gear and can't lead yet but there is some TR there i've done in the past. Definitely keep in touch when the weather warms up.

Definitely plan on heading out the New quite a bit once the weather warms up. It would be cool to get some carpool going.

You are more than welcome to join us. There might even be a third depending on how work schedules go. I'll let you know exactly what time we will be showing up once I figure it all out tomorrow.

aw man i would love to but I have to work from 9-5 on saturday. Sunday is my only weekend day off. I bought a rope and some beaners and slings i'm ready to go down there. I've never set up a top rope though. I know HOW to do it i just have never actually done it. I'm hoping someone down there can watch me or something. The spring is coming though so i definitly want to get out we'll have to climb another time.

That sucks, I'd be happy to go on Sunday but I have to catch a flight at 2:30. I'm supposed to be going to Old Rag next weekend but maybe we can hit Manchester the week after. There is a pretty good mix of vets and nOObs who climb at manchester but most everybody is friendly and eager to rope up. You could probably just head down there and do a bit of bouldering and find someone to climb with.

Ronadon wrote: I don't have all the gear and can't lead yet... Coulda fooled me. I climbed with Ronadon on Saturday. He's a nice guy, safety conscious and didn't hesitate jump on the sharp end. Seemed pretty solid to me. Oh and the tentative plan is to head down again weekend after next if anybody else wants to tie in.
