Hey I just got a pair of five ten v10s and while the rubber is tight enough the fabric is loose on the sides of my feet. Pretty much if i try to heel hook something my shoes can slip right off.so any tips to shrink the fabric would be appreciated.

If you can figure it out I'd say go for it... http://www.movieactors.com/actors/freezes2/ShrunkMoranis2.jpeg But you probably just need a tighter fit or you could try some thick socks until you can replace them as the above poster stated. -G

Like others said, you bought the wrong size or wrong manufacturer for your feet. Live and learn.

Sounds like you probably got them too big. Possible they just don't fit your foot right but unless you have a tremendously narrow or low volume foot that's unlikely. How many pairs of climbing shoes have you owned prior to this?

How to shrink: 1) List current shoes on EBay or Craig's List. 2) Look for same shoes in smaller size on EBay or Craig's List. 3) Sell and buy, or buy & sell (your preference). ----- Net result: Started with one pair of shoes, ended with one pair of shoes in smaller size; hence shrinkage. Or, if you haven't worn them very much, you might be able to exchange them at the place of purchase.

Alright, here's what you do: 1) Go to the hardware store, and buy some muriatic acid. 2) Make a solution of 75% acid/25% water. 3) Soak shoes in this solution for at least 24 hours. 4) Put the shoes on your car's engine block. 5) Drive around for a few days. 6) Delete the System32 folder on your computer. If you follow these steps exactly, you should be golden. Should bring them down at least 1 US size (which is like 8 UK sizes or something). You're welcome!

Either the shoe is just the wrong size. Or it may be the right length, but the wrong width for your feet. Or sometimes, the shoe can be the right length and width, but just not conform to the shape of you foot. Every model of shoe is built a little different, and everyone's feet are a little different. The trick is finding the right shoe for you. You can try on a couple pairs, and find a perfect fit. Or you can try 10 before you find one that is acceptable (this happened to at least a couple friends of mine). If you try to shrink your shoes, they will likely not shrink the way you want them to. Better to just find a pair of shoes that fit you right out of the box (or with just a little break-in).

Did you know that computers and climbing shoes share 98% of their DNA? And that your American PC probably has more in common with a pair of Vietnamese Mad Rock/Climb X's than another American Macintosh!? Crazy, I know

Um, this may not be a legal question to ask in all regions, but should I get genetic testing for my shoes?

Well, I don't know. That's why I'm asking. Have others had experience with this? Do some testing agencies provide counseling shoes?

Get bigger feet for the shoes... IE sell them on ebay to someone that fits the shoes. OR an even better idea, is give then to a noob that they actually fit.
