Can anyone recommend an informative training book and/ or DVD on crack climbing techniques?

Chris Sharma (born in Santa Cruz, Ca.) has a # of books and a few Video's (DVD's) out which are amazing. He is considered the KING and he is only 28 yrs. old. His B-day is coming up in 2 weeks. Take care, man...

I'd watch Moving Over Stone and Return to Sender. Both classic climbing movies, both have lots of good jamming.

I replied to this guy's request for info. on Chris Sharma (who was DQ'd back in '01 for a little THC in his system) with a few hyperlinks I have had in one of my PC's for over 3+ months. he comes back with " Stop sending viruses you fucktard" as a response to these CLEAN links. He has his anti-virus set high and is receiving "false-positives" as I have sent the same links to others and even my PC is fine. My e-mail set-up checks incoming & outgoing mail, anyway. So, should he be entitled tor information or does anyone else think that from his disposition and vocabulary- he may be limited in his reading and comprehension skills? I was only giving honest help. Also, I build, repair and modify/customize UV paint jobs on PC's, plus install liquid-cooling systems to the CPU's, Chipsets, Video Cards, HDD's and MOSFETS. So, he did not receive any Virus. |

Learning to Lead, I believe it was JOhn Long, but not sure. Was suppose to be about placing gear, but it was excellent on showing Jamming techniques. Funny movies too. I a weird sort of 1980s way.

Right, Learn To Lead- How to Rock Climb, John Long 244 pgs. Read parts of it and yes, it's old... I've read some of your stories- been from the East Coast of the USA to N. Australia and then N.E. of there. How cool. Great photo's, too.

johnwesely & guangzhou have quite a # of informative replies in the forums for all kinds of guidance & information, airscape has quality info, also, but davidnn5 has comic books and cartoons, plus a new, loyal follower who likes to play around in the forums taking nothing serious. I was sure this was the site to join for help, guidance and integrity behind the replies. All I have done is quote from numerous books, movies and hyperlinks from thesources I have found to be reliable and honest, thorough. Most people Trad climb and sport climb, cave & bouldering. There are the Ice Mountaineers, big mountain skiers, competitive climbers and the indoor gym type, like me (I am repairing a bad back, hip and neck for now). I rode Trials Competition for over 12 yrs. in Az. and Southern Ca. and had a ton of fun, but my doctor(s) say "No more", so I'm here to learn more on certain climbing techniques. I take this serious and just ask for honest climbing knowledge to my questions, so, like the USnavy member, with my question(s), all I am asking for, literally, is the same kind of answer you would want from people who are much more experienced than yourselves. Honesty and integrity included. I look up to you guys and gals for the chances you've taken in order to better your knowledge and skills at climbing and look forward to reading more feedback and vacation stories of what new knowledge you care to pass on. The remarks and poor sportsman-like replies aren't for a serious site like this. those are for while you are out climbing or setting home drunk and angry at??? wherever else the lack of information included and Competitive Opinions belong. There aren't any Forums for this kind of feedback or slander that I noticed anywhere on this sites Forum Headings and it looks like a professional and Intelligent site to me, so can those of you just be yourselves, as though you were helping a friend with safety issues & guidance through your knowledge. Great site, and in my recent responses to the replies I received- I was only giving back what those 2 guys tried to make me believe this site was partially about... onesidedness, which I don't believe it is. I am here for your help and knowledge. Thanks.

I'll paraphrase "Moving Over Stone". Get white pants, now!! Get a toothpick. If you cry about lost love on belay, you might drop Russ Walling into a dumpster. Get another toothpick.

There are a few things that are greatly appreciated on this website. -If you just spout nonsense, like watching a Chris Sharma video to learn about crack climbing, people are going to give you hell. -If you don't punctuate or use paragraphs, half the people are going to give you hell, the other half won't read your posts. -You will be ignored if you spell like a kid texting. -If you get butthurt easily, you're best to take a step back now before it gets too raw for you. -There's a lot of crap advice on this forum, many are quick to call out the crap. That's what just happened to you. -Don't get wood over USnavy, he's one of the most caustic and facepalm users here. His best attribute will be in one thread beating his chest about how to do something "cause he's an expert" and in another ask how to place a fucking jam. With no irony at all. It's beautiful really. Go read the beginner FAQ. STFU for a while, soak it in, and come back if your ass ever stops bleeding.
