Does anyone know if there is an established, bonafied route going up the slabs/ledges to the start of Snake Dike? If not, should there be? I've done the route twice by scrambling up the slippery, forested ridge. Both times I eyed those slabs...disjointed, but potentially fun. IMO, a bolt or two would be needed to make it safe. Would people freak if bolts were placed on the approach slabs?

Yes. It has been done for many decades without, so retro bolting class 3 and 4 is not only lame, but you should learn to utilize your rack better if you have shrinkage there.

haha. thanks. I guess I should have been more specific. I'm not talking about the lame 4th class slabs that we all wind up on at some point and then try to scury left to safety. There's some sweet 5.6-5.8 stuff (maybe harder?) to the right and above those ones...I wish I knew how to insert an image...
