Hueco September - Snakes & Spiders?  (North_America: United_States: Texas)

I'm visiting Hueco in September, coming from the UK where I don't have to worry about any poisonous creepy crawlies, I'm a bit nervous of coming to Hueco!
Last November I visited and didn't see any snakes or spiders and was told this was probably because it was starting to get too cool. I was wondering if there are likely to be snakes and things about in September?
How likely am I to see a snake, what is the best way to protect yourself from a snake and/ or a spider bite?
One more question, do you get mosquitos in Hueco?
Thanks

I haven't checked the weather, but i'd think that it'll still be pretty warm in september, so yeah, there'll probably still be active snakes and spiders.

Snakes aren't that much of a concern, they sure don't seek out people, and generally do everything they can do get away from folks, so don't chase them and make sure you scope out your landings and you should be fine.

I don't think spiders are too bad either, it's not like they'll chase you around, or they're all over the place, they will crawl into your sleeping bag at night if you don't keep things closed, so I'd say, best to sleep in a tent and keep it zipped up so you don't have to worry about it. The only time i've gotten bit by a spider was sleeping out.

Also check your shoes before you put them on, spiders and scorpions are sometimes found in shoes, so it's not a bad idea to knock them out just in case.

Edited to add, I don't think that you'll find mosquitoes out there.

just got back from hueco today, about 95 degrees, feels hotter in the sun but if you get out early enough not a problem. There will be snakes and spiders active just check where you'll be sticken your hands before you start. As for mosquitoes they're not a problem on the more open climbs, but in places like martini cave where there may be wet ground they are there (and extremely irritating lol), I can imagine they'd be bad at night too.
