I'd like to do some high alpine climbs, but I've got a lot to learn. Whenever I've seen a hill or mountain, I've always thought about how to climb it. Hard or easy, for some reason I want to get to the top. I wish I had started doing it sooner in life.

My ultimate goal is of coarse to have fun and climb till I'm just too damn old to get out of bed, but on the way I'd really like to improve to a level where I can lead trad comfortably to mid 5.10's, sport to low 11's and be able to go anywhere, walk up and comfortably climb anything in my skill level, I may be too old make this goal but I'm going to give it my best shot. I don't have an end goal, but my goals for next year are to climb a 5.12, sport lead a 5.10, trad lead a 5.7-5.8, and climb a multi-pitch with my girlfriend (Wonder Woman). I just want to always keep improving. Josh

I'm not sure I have an ultimate climbing goal, except to keep climbing no matter what, and to get better every season. Every season, I keep a record of what i've climbed and the difficultly, etc. I also say "wel, by the end of this season, i want to be onsighting 5.xx"... and keep moving thescale up every year. I'd have to say my ultimate climbing goal would be to redpoint this climb: Cobra "This wildly overhanging straight-in finger on the backside of the Squamish chief has rappelled all efforts from many strong climbers. The route is 40 meters long and is not overly size dependant. Much of the climbing is first-digit thumb-down locks with absolutely no foot-holds, only poor smears in the . At this time I have done all the moves and am linking up to the crux, however, much more work is needed. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever been on, and could very well be one of the hardest pure finger anywhere." Andrew Boyd This climb hasn't even been free climbed. I heard it had a bunch of gear in it this fall. I think it was Boyd working it. Here is a pic of him in Utah. This is a long ways away in my climbing ability. But I'm motivated.

To be able to climb in new areas that I haven't been to before, to be able to lead where I have followed, to meet great people climbing and not get injured doing so.

I have lots of goals. My first big goal is to climb the north face of [ahref="http://www.rmbooks.com/books/robson.htm"]Robson , and to climb LOTS of peaks to ready myself. And just to do as much climbing as I can, less work more climbing. And to get into aid and climb a big wall in a remote area such as Baffin Island. Getting all excited just thinking about it. My ultimate goal would have to be to climb hard and have fun. I don't want to say "5.12" or whatever, because once I get there, I'm going to want more. My #1 goal for this year, though, is to climb Twisted (it's a nasty V4 in Little Cottonwood Canyon that kicked my butt all last season. one more move and I'm home-free). If I can do that, I'll be happy. Jami

Wow - Mt. Everest seems too much of a goal for me. However, I love mountaineering, and I look forward to climbing as many peaks as possible. 2003 is going to be a great year! Bye. JULES

In the long run, I would like to be able to on-sight 5.13- and flash V8. for now though, I'll have to break through the 5.12 sport lead mark and boulder consistently at V5-6. For me, on-sighting/flashing is a lot more important than red-pointing just because it demands so much more of you, mentally and technically

in no order
- to find the ultimate hand jam
- to find the nicest layback out there
- to find the most bomber nut placement in existence
- to climb the nicest finger crack
anyway, you get the point.
