  1. Charge money for people to climb in your gym

  2. Profit

There is not much information to be given because you have not given much information. Can you get investors? If so how much money do you think you can get from them? What do you want in your gym IE boulder, TR, lead, shop. How big is the place you are going to buy? Are you going to buy or lease? Can you get state/government funding? I suggest buying some business books so you can start figuring out what it's actually going to take to start this place up. The idea sounds like a good money maker especially if it's near a college. Any place with snow for over half the year = a great place for a climbing gym.

Because posting on a public forum site and choosing to not be public..... is overrated.

Definitely some good advice in the earlier posts. And remember, unless you are in exactly the right place, at exactly the right time, and have exactly the perfect conditions for starting your business, it's going to be A LOT OF WORK. Hell, even if everything is exactly perfect, you'll still need to put in A LOT OF WORK.

I can tell you from experience. I'm on my 4th business now and this one has some potential. No investors, self funded from the start, been running for two years now, and we'll probably be profitable this year.

Working 12 hours a day is not unusual. And in fact you should expect it no matter what type of business you are building.

Be prepared to work your ASS off.

Anyway... good luck!

And edited to add: PS: Don't forget to check your spelling.
