Hey everyone!! I just received my first set of cams (BD C4's .5-3, with doubles on 1&2). I have a set of nuts 4-13, with 2 size 7 (booty gear). I was wondering what the next cams/nuts you think are best. mainly I climb around socal (Tahquitz, J Tree, Yosemite). My trad mentor has a HUGE rack, so I have been using his gear, but really love the feel of the C4s. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Take care and Climb SAFE!

Of the three, I've only climbed in Yosemite, but I've done a fair amount there. The obvious gaping hole in your rack is small cams.
I like TCUs, but that's because we have lots of quartzite with funky horizontal cracks around here. For vertical cracks in Yosemite, you'll probably prefer something along the lines of mastercams, C3s, or aliens. I own mastercams, but if I were in the market for new cams and had access to somebody else's rack, I'd probably wait for Fixe to release their aliens. C3s... play with them to see if you like them. Some people do, some people don't.

A full set of cams is already heavy enough.
You probably still want want a shitload of stuff, namely offset nuts, some tricams and a bunch of large nuts or hexs.

Smaller cams. Aliens (or the newer Totem Basic or Fixe), TCU's, Mastercams, or something similar. If possible, try them all and see what you like. I also like a second set of nuts, preferably different from the first set.

Besides a few smaller cam you have a pretty good start.
I would suggest go climbing...a lot. see what routes you like and what you are consistently missing in your rack. What piece/size are you wishing you had/more of? Than supplement as needed.

sugar daddy mentors usually have all the gear you need, for a nice bivy with yr tender flesh of course

I would get an extra .75 c4 and doubles of pink and red tri-cams. A set of small TCU is nice 1-4. I never bring the 0 and 00.
But I don't really like climbing with the little little cams.
