Fremont County officials today released the name of the 36-year-old man who feel 80 feet to his death while rappelling a rock face near Cotopaxi Sunday afternoon.

Kelly Riggins from Pueblo West was an inexperienced rock climber who apparently failed to secure his gear and "essentially fell straight down the wall," said Sheriff's Capt. Don Pinover.

He was climbing with a friend, a more experienced climber who went down the wall first, then walked away to a vehicle parked nearby off U.S. Highway 50 along the Arkansas River, Pinover said.
