...they don't do the IV thing anymore, just fyi. They do all sorts of other nasty things.
**note, this applies to anyone at the hospital who can't chew and swallow their own food, not just smokers**

IV's rule, none of that bothersom chewing. Just puree it and shove it in a bag and let it drip!!!!
^^this was before Melissa's post. Why'd they cut them out??? If you can get over needles and having this itchy thing in your arm, they aren't so bad..

I do neuropsych testing of patients, and am generally my boss's b!tch.
So yeah, in plain english, I'm a gopher, and I go bother people when they don't feel well and make them name pictures for me and read and stuff like that.
"Is this an orange?" "uhm, I dunno" "ok, thats good..."

oh...they didn't cut them out all together, you still get meds that way. But they feed you through different things. There is an NG tube, which feeds you through your nasal passage basically, and an MG tube, which is a tube down your throat, and a PEG, which is a tube pretty much straight to your stomach.
I don't know really when they use each, but they are all pretty yucky.
