I have one of these to help clean my paint brushes: The piece on the left goes inside the bucket part of the piece on the right to keep the paintbrushes from swinging. Anyway, I poured turpentine in the bucket part with the piece on the left inside the bucket and didn't have enough turpentine to for the brush to rest in. I took that piece out and, instead of putting it on the table, I put it on one of those styrofoam containers that meat comes in when you buy it at the store. Two hours later I came back home to find that not only had the little bit of turpentine on the left piece dripped onto the foam, but the foam had practically melted to the table. I had to take a razor to scrape the foam off the table. Serious!

You might even get more snow that time of year. Should be nice, but you're going for winter still, not spring (unless this year continues to be mild - not sure if it's been mild up there, but it has been in New England).

Believe me I know. well, the problem I noted above had nothing to do with odor; only a tiny bit ate through an entire section of foam in less than a couple of hours to the point where I needed a razor to scrape the stuff off the table. But yeah, later my apt was full of strong fumes after I had cleaned up. The problem with that is finding odorless here. Not so easy.
