(I didn't find this one in my search, so here goes....)

Chinese New Year is fast approaching and I thought I'd take advantage of the sales to pick up a pair of approach/wall shoes. Up to this point it has been tight cheap hiking boots for me. But I noticed my local gear shop has the La Sportiva Hyper Guide LT boots for sale. Anyone with experience using this boot? Pro's/con's?

Well,

I have no information about the boots you are asking about – But I did want to report on something along these lines.

I went to our local climbing shoe resole shop to check on putting rands on my Asolo boots. I was too cheap to pay the $100.00 to find out how well this might hold up, so the guy sold me a $6.00 tube of “INDUSTRIAL STRENGHT E6000 The Multi-Purpose Adhesive Self-Leveling Formula – Medium Viscosity Clear”

Dang, I’d love to see their Heavy Viscosity – this stuff lays on thick – wait 72 hours and lay on another layer. Makes for a very-very tough toe cap/rand that maintains a rubbery texture when hardened – with hardened being the key word here.

This held up very well while climbing last weekend, and it will be easy to add a touch-up from time to time.

Check it out

Chad
