Does anyone know what mountains are in the Lord of the Rings movies? I spent most of the three hours of the Two Towers picking out routes!!! thanks Bill

Most of the film was made in New Zealand, so the into scenes were all shot in the New Zealand Alps, unless I am mistaken...

I wanna go too, but the money is tight. someday though, someday... I've known New Zealand was the place to be since Willow came out in the 80s. btw, interesting side note, I nearly won a trip there once. I was in Australia, and they had the mcdonalds monopoly game going on. We hit there once the first day and once the last. I got the first two the first day, and the last one the last day, so I had all I needed, except I'd thrown out the other two because I was like, nah, I'll never win, since we probably won't go to mcdonalds again while we are here. DAMNIT, I'm such an ijit.

In the begining of the movie there is as boulder field in every shot! I was squerming in my seat wanting to get up, pause the movie, and pick out the set of holds that would be used to get up the problem.
