hahaha, i'll eventually get something on the small of my back, but i dont have a design for that yet - and i'm afraid that you'd have to compete with my bf on rights to do anything other than oogling at my lower back.

Amber - Ahhhhhhhh!! and here I was hoping for a FA. ;) Oh, yeah....more seriously......(from someone that has 2 and plans on more)....get something relatively meaningful to you or at least a design that you are totally in love with - nothing less. Cheers. ps - got any single friends with tats?

The most sensual place I’ve seen a female tattoo was 3 beautiful Chinese symbols placed one above the other just above the sternum between the breasts. Very eloquently done. The black dress that the young woman wore brought it all together…amazingly classy. My suggestion is to go when you’re feeling…somewhat aroused…it’s amazing the amount of pain you can endure when stimulated. (Studies have suggested up to three times the pain tolerance while aroused than when not)

(Studies have suggested up to three times the pain tolerance while aroused than when not) actually, i'm more concerned about it tickling than hurting. yep, i'm an oddball. i'm pretty ticklish and it didn't tickle. hurt like a mofo, yes. tickle, no. i've got a pretty high tolerance, and i submit my drug-free delivery of a 9.5 pound baby as proof. but at certain points, my legs jerked involuntarily and i had to close my eyes and focus on my breathing. they say you forget the pain of childbirth. apparently, you also forget the pain of tattoos. in both instances, by the time you remember, it's too f@cking late to do a thing about it.  jen

WAIT! don't let that scare you! my lower back tribal is 8 inches long and 3 inches high in the middle. it did only take 1.5 hours, compared to the 15 hour labor i had with cole. i'm already forgetting how much it hurt, and it's only been three days. :D

Hey Jen, do you have a picture of it yet? And yes, Ms Amber, you are in deed a tad "odd-ballish". ;p I go back in 4.5 weeks to have mine redone...oh the joys of the perfect tat...ugh...It's would be different if I was receiving pain for a NEW ONE!!! Not one I all ready have. My skin doesn't hold ink very well...very porous. So it's back to the chair I go. (Which he told me before we ever got started. At least he knows his stuff...25+ years exerience including time in the orient...amazing work.)

In reply to: where are some of the sexiest places to get a tat? i have some specific places in mind but am curious to see what others have to say .. Good question. :) I have one on my chest, over my heart ... but that was a personal decision rather than aesthetic. I've been told it works, though. ;) The idea for a sexy tat, I guess, is to emphasize or draw attention to a sexy part of your body. For me ... tummies and backs ... yummm ... so tats above or below the navel, or on the small of the back ... those make me weak. A lady climbing with a tat between her shoulders ... ... hell yeah. My second tat is going to be around my right bicep, for the same reason ... it shows off and draws attention to my arms, which are quite defined (hell, I'm a climber ... ;) ... they kinda have to be, doncha think? )

In reply to: if you're sexy you're sexy, so pick a spot... if you aren't sexy at all, no chance you can pick a sexy position for a tat. choose for yourself, you have to live with it! I think that about says it all. :D

I can take or leave body art, no real inclinations for or against, but I remember one that was....interesting. It was about three inches below the front of her beltline, off to one side a bit....a little lawnmower, the push kind.

well, I think left and right groin is sexy (right over the ovaries) I have a purple butterfly (of course) on the left side, rose on the right; orange poppy on the back of my neck - I get a lot of comments on the poppy - and I'm like - quoi? I forget it's there... oh, I'm getting a Tao symbol on my ankle - it's overdone, I know, but I like it - looks like a figure 8. and - oh, my little dolphin - right collarbone. It covered a scar - it's an unusual place for a tat but gets lots of kisses. I am NOT a narcissist!!!!

Anywhere that I might catch an occasional glimpse of it, but probably not see the whole thing unless you want to show me. A little advice for any ladies thinking about getting a tat anywhere on your abdomen . . . sexy as that is . . . Get a balloon. Draw/write something on it with a marker. Inflate the balloon. See what I mean? Think 8 months pregnant.

See what I mean? Think 8 months pregnant. for that reason i wouldn't get one RIGHT by or around your belly if you're planning on having kids someday. mine's lower, and off to the side. while i did endure jokes that it would be a different japanese symbol post pregnancy, :? it survived my pregnancy perfectly. and i was a freakin big bellied pregnant woman. i mean, 64" tall and 50" around. you could practically roll me. so yeah, word to the wise. :D jen

I got one below my waist band and above my underwear on my back/hip region over 10 years ago when I though a moon and stars would be original and pissing my mom off was something to seek rather than avoid. I forget that its there unless one of these discussions comes up. I don't hate it enough to think about removing it, but I think that my back side would look better au natural now. I dread the possibility that it wil morph into a hideous abstract blob if I ever give birth.

I have a dolphin and a yin-yang on my right ankle. I was contemplating getting a toe-ring tat. Then I look down at my distorted, ugly climbers feet and think, "why bother."
