I'm going to be in Burnsville or just outside of the week of the 28th. What would one suggest as a good place to go climbing, trad-spurrty-or hanging with the pad peeps doesn't matter. Just look'n fur some loca-beta.

Grandmother Boulders - yeah... that's the ticket. :wink: Shiprock - 1-2 pitch trad climbing w/ the coolest Summer temps in the Southeast. An excellent day hike is Mount Mitchell parking lot to Deep Gap (or Celo Knob) and back. Closest thing to alpine terrain in NC. If you're a little more ambitious - Celo, to Deep Gap, to Mt. Mitchell, to Black Mountain campground. Roan Mountain also has some excellent hiking.
