I was told that camping is no longer free on wall street in moab. Does anyone know if this is true?

The last time I was there (Early May) the usual free campsites, the ones just down the road from the pay sites, had signs posted that they were closed to camping. I think they were about to be developed into more pay sites. The pay sites are still there and I haven't been there since so the situation might have changed.

I have camped in Long's Canyon for years---it is about 10- 15 minute drive south of Wall Street. To get up into it, a FWD helps. No charges.
