I bet this has been dicussed before, but how do you get RC.com points? I feel that in the time that i've been here i've contrubited quite a few routes especially in the LCC bouldering areas, and American Fork Canyon, and i don't even have a rating yet? I read the ariticle in website help about it but am still confused..

Why do you care? Don't do anything for meaningless rewards.

I think the rating system is not working at the moment. I think it has something to do with switching over to the new system, and they haven't had time yet to fix it.

I'm only aware of two other post besides this one. One of them is the one I posted in June at http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34438&highlight=site+ratings+stuck and the other was in the "are you contributing" topic. The site ratings have been stalled since something like April when they updated to phpbb 2, so none of our contributions are being counted. People are afraid to talk about it for fear of being flamed (see alwaysforward's post). It's not a high enough priority to be fixed, because the general consensus is that ratings don't matter, and if they do matter to someone, that someone should be killed violently. Personally, I figure an item this large should be fixed. A large portion of the front page is taken up displaying something that never changes because it doesn't work. To answer your question though, there is a FAQ somewhere on the site that discusses what you get points for, but I can't remember exactly what it all is. It involves pictures, posts, visits, route contributions, and stuff like that. Good luck finding it. :)

In reply to: Yes... Tim fixed it. Really? cool! Now we just need to tie the system to CVS commits. Heh. 100 points per commit of 10 lines or more? I may just do that... :D
