Either of the Spyderco rescue knives are excellent. I use the Jr.

The lady bug is nice, too, but a little too small for me.

So many knives... So little money!

I feel your pain. This not only goes for the knives (which I've given up lately to save for stuff for my bike) but for all the things I want to do. I dream of the day I have multiple pairs of shoes, harnesses and pads for every occasion. /drooling

wear it on the side of your harness or strapped to your chest.

convenient for cutting webbing and on crowded multipitch routes when you want to pass without much debating.

I like your thinking Joe, Your post cracked me up.

Obviously any jackleg can tell you what knife is "good". There are several knives too choose from out on the market and I will give you a few ideas of what I think are the best... I sell knives by the way.

Spyderco is by far the best pocket knife... for one damn reason, it is the sharpest most durable blade you'll ever find. But, your gonna pay for it.

Smith and Wesson: These knives (IMO) are the best "overall" pocketknife available using the comparison of "price" "blade strength" "sharpness" and "durablility". You can get a Smith and Wesson Cutting Horse (in 5 different styles and 3 different sizes) for $12 and not only will you be glad with your buy but you will have it for years. I've been using one on a regular basis for 5 years now. I've sharpened the blade once.

I keep a small (3") very sharp single bladed pocket knife on a short keeper cord clipped to the same biner as my nut tool - definitely more than a match for cutting accessory cord and nylon webbing ;-)

All I carry is a keychain sizes Wenger Swiss Army knife. It has a serrated blade, scissors with some serration to them, nail file, tweezers and tooth pick. The scissors are the best thing for cutting tape off your hands.

I don't see any need for a larger blade in climbing situations. This weighs less than most small knives and has tweezers and scissors.

Oh, and it only cost me $6.50.
