We want the whole story, start to finish. the Downs/Ups/Training to get better/How did it happen. Pretend you are Lance Armstrong coming back to win the Tour, write the book. Inspire us.
In reply to: Thanks for this thread, I thought I was alone when I lost the ring and the pinky finger on my left hand in what has been referred to as a short cut (I was trying to support a family of five when my wife was unemployed). My climbing has obviously improved since I only began a year after my "shortcut". I have often wondered if I can now morally park in handicap spaces because of this injury. This thread has provided inspiration for the rest of my life. Dave

Appreciate your point of view but if people are having problems with fingerless/legless/blind/etc climbers with a sense of humor change the channel. If handicapped people talking about their injuries and comebacks embarasses you, then start a thread about healthy people climbing 5.10, that's pretty neutral. People like us on are the comeback trail and we are proud of what we can do, where we have been. Getting your fingers whacked in a table saw like myself is no joke to me, and neither is this thread. We have hero's like everyone else, and I'm not asking anyone else on this site to take their heroes off their subject lines. We honor our hero's like most people do, hey we are human, beyond human. You can't put us down, stick us in the closet (although we got stuck in the choss pile for a while). We are a fact of life that we can climb more with less. The proud, the few. No apologies.
In reply to: I want to say that as a mod for the Injuries and Accidents Forum, I am embarrassed you people are being like this. I personally think Tommy's pretty cool for being able to do what he does, and this is mostly a joke. If you're serious about your quest for fingerless friends, at least change the title of this thread.

Climb hard, no excuses for only climbing 5.12. Someday we'll have an Olympic's!!!! You'll get the gold. Mr. Moderator sir, I hope this person's note is not embarrassing for our forum.

A cut off finger is aid for mono-pockets. You can get way more leverage...

Accidents and Injuries is a serious forum. While I don't doubt Drizzi's probably looking for a support group, the sheer number of people who are having fun with this (and well they should) doesn't make this a serious thread. Sorry. Community it is.

Yeah, Stick the cripples in the choss pile. Why don't you instead edit out all the inconsiderate ones that are ruining our thread. Like I said, I'd be willing to moderate it. I've donated $$$$$$ in the past to this site, thanks for the consideration...... dreez

I submitted one a couple minutes ago. Assuming it doesn't wind up in the choss pile like my poor support group, I'll let you know. Sorry, you will have to start your own group, we take only visibly deformed units that have a direct impact on ability to climb. Come back when you got a good story to tell!!!

This is BS. The chicks get their own thread to whine about their lives. Why can't us deformed units have to inspire the world???? This is a valid topic wrecked by people who call handicap people MF'rs and trolls. Now if we violated the Patriot Act, I'd understand....

Dreez, if you take stuff like Soma's thread seriously, then you will contribute to the atmosphere. And if you have issues, don't ignore my PMs, I'd be happy to direct you. Or you can contact another mod or admin.

Approved the pic for you... Should have been submitted as Low, but it fits the size requirements for Low, so no worries. http://www.rockclimbing.com/photos.php?Action=Show&PhotoID=18931 I thought this was a TROLL, so I stand corrected.

THANKS for posting a picture of Stubby for me. Yup, that's my boy!!!!!! Or should I say 1/2 my boy. Moderators and I came to an agreement. I can have my support group if I show Tommy respect. Didn't mean to disrespect The Great One. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TERMINATE THIS THREAD, 9.5 Club MOVING TO INJURIES. WON"T MENTION OUR HERO UNLESS HE CONTACTS OUR CLUB. Self destruct sequence begins 5.4.3.2.1.....KILLLLLLLL

SORRY!!! Couldn't resist. Like this contributes and is more worthy of the climbing world.... Chicks whining about the size of their ta-ta-s http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39327 I guess they didn't talk about their heroes. I still protest, but am happy the moderators and I have come to an agreement. Love ya, dreez
