My friends and I have an outdoor climbing area. It's not natural rock, it's an old train tressel. We actually have sport routes, so we have it bolted. However, I wouldn't recommend this for the cliff! I would just try to get to the top. No worries about if it's the same route or not. It's nice to climb outside and not have a specific route. It makes it fun and interesting!

Jody, I had the pleasure of growing up in urban New Jersey. Painted rock was very common and quite unsightly. Now if you did it in watercolors as a temporary art statement, Maybe... Rock is beautiful by itself tho.

glad to see some of us are thinking..... i like the bread crumb idea..... but i was talking to my local council and found out the cost of cutting a jeep track through a clif wasnsnt all that much..... and saves alot of effort driving rather than climbing. im sending them down my local crag right now joe
